We dined at Restaurante Mayordomo March 4th 2022. Right off the bat we were seated after a 35min wait. Bad timing I guess. We ordered 2 of the $480 peso Rib-eye, shrimp quesadilla, 2 molcajetes, and the salmon. The waiters brought out the quesadilla first, after 10min they brought out the molcajetes and our Rib-eye's and Salmon arrived after another 10min. While some of us were finished, the rest just began. Now to rate the food: 2/10 The Rib-eye steak was a VERY low grade cut. The meat was cooked medium-rare as requested but had no flavour whatsoever. It was served with a side of guacamole and a side of extremely greasy onions with spicy green chile. Never had I had such a bad tasting dish. If you like eating chewy steak with guacamole and spicy greasy onions, this $24 dollar dish is for you. Regarding the shrimp quesadilla, the shrimp did not taste fresh at all and it was rubbery. The molcajete had some chorizo that had an awful taste. The only dish that was "alright" was the Salmon but the salad dressing was too watery and soaked everything up. Keep in mind we are not picky eaters. I enjoy tasting the flavours in dishes, cooking is an art and this restaurant did a terrible job in showing it. Street tacos would be a much...
Read moreMy favorite place to eat while there!!!! Margaritas and all kinds of moles. Our first two nights Paolo was our hostess. She was so attentive making sure we were being well taken care of. Unfortunately she had an accident and was out the rest of our trip.😪😪😥😥. Had the best ever server. Enrique. He was more than Awesome. He made every meal an adventure. Luckily his English was better than my Spanish 😂😂😂😂😂😂 He was so helpful in describing what was in some of the dishes we wanted to try. He brought us out samples of different things to try. I really hope him and his family can come to Maine and let us cook our traditional food for them 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 The Chef Eladiio Santiago was out greeting customers and making sure we were satisfied with the dishes. Very friendly and really was so helpful. The location is where you want to be to people watch, music and entertainment, great street food and plenty of places to shop. If you don't go there you are definitely missing out on a great time!!!!! Especially if you stay at Hotel Suites de Centro .Within walking distance to all...
Read moreYou walk into Mayordomo La Chocolatería and it immediately feels like an escape. Nestled right in the heart of downtown Oaxaca, it's the kind of place that whispers "luxury" from the moment you step through the door. I was lucky enough to snag a table on the top terrace, and what a view it was! Below me, the main square buzzed with a festival, a vibrant tapestry of colors and sounds, while I savored every bite. And the food? Divine. I had the black chicken mole. A must while in the city, because that's what they are known for. The entire experience of being perched above the festivities, taking in the lively atmosphere, truly elevated the meal. It wasn't just dinner; it was a sensory symphony. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Oaxaca, with incredible food and a view that will take your breath away, Mayordomo La Chocolatería is an...
