We dined at Restaurante Mayordomo March 4th 2022. Right off the bat we were seated after a 35min wait. Bad timing I guess. We ordered 2 of the $480 peso Rib-eye, shrimp quesadilla, 2 molcajetes, and the salmon. The waiters brought out the quesadilla first, after 10min they brought out the molcajetes and our Rib-eye's and Salmon arrived after another 10min. While some of us were finished, the rest just began. Now to rate the food: 2/10 The Rib-eye steak was a VERY low grade cut. The meat was cooked medium-rare as requested but had no flavour whatsoever. It was served with a side of guacamole and a side of extremely greasy onions with spicy green chile. Never had I had such a bad tasting dish. If you like eating chewy steak with guacamole and spicy greasy onions, this $24 dollar dish is for you. Regarding the shrimp quesadilla, the shrimp did not taste fresh at all and it was rubbery. The molcajete had some chorizo that had an awful taste. The only dish that was "alright" was the Salmon but the salad dressing was too watery and soaked everything up. Keep in mind we are not picky eaters. I enjoy tasting the flavours in dishes, cooking is an art and this restaurant did a terrible job in showing it. Street tacos would be a much...

My favorite place to eat while there!!!! Margaritas and all kinds of moles. Our first two nights Paolo was our hostess. She was so attentive making sure we were being well taken care of. Unfortunately she had an accident and was out the rest of our trip.😪😪😥😥. Had the best ever server. Enrique. He was more than Awesome. He made every meal an adventure. Luckily his English was better than my Spanish 😂😂😂😂😂😂 He was so helpful in describing what was in some of the dishes we wanted to try. He brought us out samples of different things to try. I really hope him and his family can come to Maine and let us cook our traditional food for them 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 The Chef Eladiio Santiago was out greeting customers and making sure we were satisfied with the dishes. Very friendly and really was so helpful. The location is where you want to be to people watch, music and entertainment, great street food and plenty of places to shop. If you don't go there you are definitely missing out on a great time!!!!! Especially if you stay at Hotel Suites de Centro .Within walking distance to all...

You walk into Mayordomo La Chocolatería and it immediately feels like an escape. Nestled right in the heart of downtown Oaxaca, it's the kind of place that whispers "luxury" from the moment you step through the door. I was lucky enough to snag a table on the top terrace, and what a view it was! Below me, the main square buzzed with a festival, a vibrant tapestry of colors and sounds, while I savored every bite. And the food? Divine. I had the black chicken mole. A must while in the city, because that's what they are known for. The entire experience of being perched above the festivities, taking in the lively atmosphere, truly elevated the meal. It wasn't just dinner; it was a sensory symphony. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Oaxaca, with incredible food and a view that will take your breath away, Mayordomo La Chocolatería is an...

I came here because the hot chocolate here is one the best I ever had. They have stores where I usually buy the chocolate but decided to come to this down town location to sit down and take in the beautiful atmosphere and enjoy a hot chocolate and sweet bread on a windy and rainy day. I got the chocolate de agua (water base)they serve it in a bowl the traditional way I’m used to drinking it. I ordered it alongside a delicious roll type of pastry that was filled with a cinnamon filling and some almonds on top, my mom got the chocolate de leche(milk based)it was much creamier than mine but both were still good.My daughter got the choco mío which looked like a tall glass of cold chocolate milk it was really creamy and flavorful. I realized they served food here was well and although I didn’t eat here, it smelled so good and looked amazing! I want to come back and try their mole.

Must try the tamal con mole and a hot chocolate with a concha. We came here almost every night for a late bite to eat. The restaurant was super busy because of the guelagetza, but the service was excellent. Hard workers and always checked in on us. I’m not a fan of tamales, but the mole negro won me over. The chicken with mole is really good too. We bought some mole to bring back in the states. They blend the hot chocolate by hand at your table. I also recommend you dip the bread in the coffee, otherwise it may be to dry. You are able to enjoy your meal and people watch at the zocalo. They never rushed us regardless how busy the were and we got a table right by the stage of a performance. Great service and food… i highly recommend!

Customer service needs alot of work. I been here twice to order the cold choco-mío in the plaza and the girl in the window always has an attitude. We decided to have breakfast here due to recommendations. Server was nice but service was slow. I ordered chilaquiles as did my husband and they were cold when we got our food. Our children ordered the crapes and in the menu it didn’t say they had cream cheese and my kids were disappointed. Drinks were good but serve does need a lot of improvement. A table next to us ended up leaving because the server never came to great them. There is a nice view to the plaza.
