After 10 days in Playa del Carmen I had breakfast and lunch in many local restaurants. I consider myself a foodie who loves traveling and trying all types of dishes. Without any doubt Cocolandia has the best breakfast in town. The place has delicious options like the Morelos (photo), amazing coffee from Chiapas and the service is outstanding. The place is very clean and if you are thirsty drink fresh coconut water or one of their amazing juices.

Saddest smoothie bowl I've ever seen... They gave it to me in a plastic container, in a super small portion for the price. Really disappointed in the presentation and service was very slow (45mins) despite there only having a few customers. I really love the design of the restaurant, it has a nice atmosphere. Not sure I'll be coming back though with such a sad breakfast.

We loved the atmosphere and the food. We ordered a dinner of four tacos and bottled water. Although the price was $50usd, which we found excessive for tacos, water, and a juice, the food was delicious with authentic flavors. We recommend it; however, be prepared to pay a little higher than most places.

Their fruit cocktail is disgusting. 80% of it was made of spoiled AND frozen watermelon (frozen as in directly from the freezer, as hard as rocks). Within minutes the whole bowl smelled disgusting and entirely inedible (we all know how spoiled watermelon smells like). I threw it away immediately. 75 pesos wasted.

Too bad I couldn’t show it to them because I ordered it to go, all because their wifi “was broken, cannot use”. I actually much preferred to sit down there. After I reluctantly ordered it to go (100% due to lack of amenities), they had the nerve the ask for a “10% tip”. Never had I been asked for tips for a take-home order, let alone I was forced to take it home because they failed to provide necessary amenities.

Will not return. Do...

I ate dinner there, I am utterly disappointed by the service, they forgot our order and after 15 minutes a waiter comes to say sorry, we arrange a compensation of 2 free beers because of the very long waiting time, the food is overpriced for the quantity. They charged us 1500 pesos for fries and after insisting they told us that it was a mistake and the real price was 85 pesos. At the end they changed their mind at the check and decided to offer only 1 beer instead of 2, If I knew I was getting lied to just to stay in this pathetic restaurant I would have left immediately. This is dishonest practices and scamming tourists, fairly common...

Went for breakfast. The food is fine, nothing exceptional. Nice outdoor seating though. Service was poor and I had to go up myself to order and request to pay. When I paid, they said that because I had table service, they charge 15% extra. It’s not stated anywhere on the menu. A coffee and hotcakes cost me $303 pesos.

I would like to choose myself whether or not to tip, and for this experience I would not have given a 15% tip. Go there if you want to eat at a nice location, but not for...
