English: The food was honestly amazing. Good tacos al pastor, the sirloin taco is excellent and the guacamole has a good size. We were counting our pesos because despite being white we're not rich and cannot afford a 500 pesos (25€) bill every single night, but it was our last night in Mexico so we decided to spend it. We were so happy that we decided to leave a 30 something pesos tip (which I repeat is something we have to make an effort to do because we cannot afford eating always like this) and the waiter came to count the bill. Surprisingly he wasn't even thankful for the tip (I know isn't very high, but it's something) but he asked us for another 20pesos in a very rude way demanding that the tip HAS TO BE of the 10%. I know the tip is a very cultural thing, but it's the first city in Mexico where people demand a mandatory tip because they really need it as the restaurants don't pay them a lot of money. Then complain to the owner who is making a lot of money from overpriced plates (in Spain I have never payed 6€ for a guacamole or 3€ for a taco) rather than asking the customers to compensate that injustice. We wanted to come back to eat there again next day but after that we didn't come, so they preferred to be rude over 20 pesos rather than earning another 300 pesos next day.
Read moreI appreciate they have signs saying no mascotas (no pets) but bear with me. I have been here multiple times during my extended stay in Playa del Carmen with my small dog. I have always been granted access along the outer tables. Tonight however, multiple members of staff suggested I left my small, quiet and exceptionally clean pug (a commonly stolen breed in Mexico) tied to the lamppost outside. Whilst I’ve found the food to be more than adequate in the past, I find this lack of consistency and total lack of acknowledgement that our dog is a BIG part of our lives to be unacceptable. Playa is, as a whole, a very dog friendly part of the world. I would discourage any dog owners, whether visiting with their pets or not, to avoid an establishment so hell bent on making money that they’d willingly put the safety of a...
Read moreGreat Mexican food, well prepared, friendly service in Spanish and English. Very crowded place at night but not too noisy. Lots of family and couple gathering but, you will always find a table. Your order is prepared very fast if you are very hungry and you are looking for a quick bite or you take your time to order.
Very accomodating place and sports play on TVs across the restaurant. For lunch or dinner, quality is always there. You usually find the same quality and service at all Don Sirloin locations across town.
Alcohol is served until 2h00am and high chairs are available for kids. Choose a table far from the grilled burning pastor and sirloin meat...
Ask for a basket of mexican chips, it is free of charge !!
Ps. Plastic dishes a bit too...
