First, I definitely will go back and highly recommend their burgers. Best I’ve had in PDC. If you’re not familiar with this style of burger (a smash burger) it’s similar in style to Five Guys or In n Out in the States. They literally smash the patty onto the grill to get a crust. The upside to this style is that awesome crust. The downside is the are not juicy. You can’t get them medium, etc. They only come well done. But, for me, I love them this way. Nothing wrong with a big thick juicy patty cooked medium, but I absolutely prefer the smashed style.
I got a double patty with cheese and bacon. The patties were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The bun was soft, fresh and toasted very well. The grilled onions were amazing. The cheese was melted perfectly. The fries were a disappointment. I was literally the only customer and there 6 employees at least and they made the choice to serve me old soggy fries. Bad choice that doesn’t make any sense given the circumstances (not that it ever does). Yes, they are new but this is 101. If they were busy and new I wouldn’t have even mentioned this, but at least two of the staff were managers so I would hope with a 2 times the manager count vs customer count they wouldn’t let this slide. Hard to imagine they will improve on this in the future. Anyway, I’m not gonna hold it against them and will even order the fries again in the future in hopes they are fresh and they prove me wrong. But, they also cost 25 pesos for a tiny amount (see pic) with the combo. Not great, but such is life. I took my order to go or I would have addressed it with them directly and asked for fresh fries.
Staff was super nice but obviously still learning the ropes. Totally to be expected with a new place and it seems obvious they take good service serious.
The menu has tater tots as well but they don’t have them in stock yet. Waitress said they will soon. 🤞
In short if you love smash burgers this place is doing them absolutely right. Not that my cholesterol needs it, but I will be back many times. I hope they get some support and stick around!
In response to the owner response: no that’s not why they were cold and old for sure. I live less than 5 minute walk. I have worked in food service for 25 years. They 100% served...
Read moreIm burger guy. I’ve had them 50 countries, now playa del Carmen isn’t known for the greatest beef and some Mexican styles don’t have that down to earth home burger taste.
These burgers are hands down the best in playa. (Unless your a medium rare Hard Rock Cafe guy)I am so glad they have opened close to my home. My beach body won’t be thanking me tho. Get the wings, also everything is overloaded with add ons.
Buffalo sauce was medium hot. My wife says not hot, I needed a milk shake.
I’ll be coming back here once a week. Could give any American chain smash burger joint a run for their money.
Come eat here!
July is amazing! Such a kind atmosphere and attitude. Great to see new small restaurants open and have a quality plan and excellent food selection and...
Read moreFood is okay however service is absolutely awful - after receiving half my order wrong to take away and asking for a refund as couldn't wait and the rest of the food would get cold they refused to refund me and the only option was to wait for food while the rest got cold anyway. I waited over an hour total for food. The girl is the most disrespectful horrible person I've ever met. Smirking while saying I can't refund you, its not my problem while I was practically begging her for a refund almost in tears. I could go on but I won't. They deserve no service at all, purely for this awful experience. Don't bother going. It's not worth it. Oh and also the time before that, they asked for a tip for a takeaway and were offended when I...
