KFC — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

Idk if there's free WiFi here, but there's an outlet at every booth. Two booths were occupied by guys working on laptops.

We'd never been to a KFC outside of the US, so we decided to try it. We split a Mega Box (plus an extra Coke) with chicken strips: 2 tossed in BBQ sauce & the other 2 tossed the jalapeño sauce. That jalapeño sauce is amazing! The chicken strips were fresh & juicy--not dry at all. This location is significantly better than the 2 locations in the city I'm from in the US.

The mashed potatoes, gravy, & biscuit taste the same as the US. They gave us strawberry marmalade for the biscuit (instead of honey like in the US), which looked wildly artificial & tasted really sweet. When eaten with the biscuit, the flavor reminded me of strawberries & cream ice cream. It was a bit different, but still good enough that we ate all of it, lol

Where to start.

Ordering the food was easy however it all went downhill from there. 2 of our party got their food within 10 minutes however the other 2 people waited over 30 minutes despite ordering at the same time, how is this even possible in a fast food restaurant.

The fries were cold and chicken burgers were rubbery. They also gave us some strawberry sauce to put onto the burger which was very strange.

They advertised some DC character toys on the front of their building but after ordering a toy, I ended up with a Looney tunes, bugs bunny teddy. This made me very upset.

My friend accidentally lost his receipt (accidentally threw it in the bin) and upon getting his named called for his food (eventually) he had to prove his identity by showing ID. Never have we ever had to show ID for a KFC.

We enjoy traveling around the world and part of our tradition is to try different KFC's. By far this is the worst experience we have had at a KFC and quite disappointed.

This is the worst KFC I’ve ever been to. Don’t go here! They were showing a horror film on the TVs (including in the playroom).

They had almost nothing on the menu. They said they ran out of everything. They proceeded to give all the locals their food before we got ours. Even though we all had the same thing since they only had the fried chicken. It was very clear they were doing it intentionally.

We told them that we were eating there and it wasn’t to go. We weren’t told they were closing soon (which later I found out they were supposed to be open an hour later). As soon as we sat down they blasted music so loud and kept turning it up to get us to leave. My child is autistic and it was incredibly rude. We literally had to get up without eating and leave because it scared my child so bad.
