Peace & Bowl. — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

Amazing vegan food place! It's definitely a hidden gem 💛 The Peace & Bowl is completely at the end of the Mercado30. When you first walk in you see all the other nice places in that small market: coffee, tacos... It's worth it to go all the way through. The food was really, really good and the staff very friendly. I had the avocado hummus, a chai tea and a smoothie (forgot which one... Sth. with avocado). When I paid I talked to one of the owners. I love their story! They're best friends who decided to open a vegan restaurant to make the world a better place. So they opened the restaurant 3 months ago. The whole place is furnitures by José (I hope that's the way to spell your name 😅), who is an designer for furniture. The furniture is hand-picked and the big pictures on the wall are drawn by himself. Feels like a little piece of heaven - far away from buys playa rush. I definitely recommend everyone to go there and support these amazing...

I almost never post a negative review because I feel like most businesses can have an off day and I think it's not fair. But I've stopped by three times over the past year and I've never been waited on. I've wanted to take an order to go and I'm just ignored even when I repeatedly try to get an employee's attention. I have come at peak times and slower times and typically wait 15 to 20 mins but no one takes my order or makes eye contact although I go up to the bar with menu in hand. It's especially frustrating as I see that most of the customers do not speak Spanish or do not bother to speak Spanish but seem to receive better service than those of us who are trying to order or get their attention in Spanish. Terrible plus. You'd be better off going to Fresco Hábito. They are just as busy but far better service and they seem to care about the customers. The food is also vegan...

Went here for a smoothie bowl because of the great reviews. Upon arriving I was told to find a table myself which is fine. They didn’t bring a menu, so I had to go get that myself and order and the counter. Fine again.

When I got the smoothie bowl, it was topped with frozen fruit. I might be picky, but frozen blueberries taste poor no matter if you eat them frozen or defrosted - they’re soggy and tasteless. It’s not like this place is cheaper than any of the many other places in PDC with smoothie bowls on the menu, so was quite disappointed.

Had to go up to the counter and request to pay again. No one came to my table except when serving the food.

Lots of people in the place are working on their laptops, so it’s probably a great cafe for digital nomads, but wouldn’t come back just...
