Restaurante Peruano Machupicchu truly took us on an extraordinary gastronomic adventure right in the heart of Playa del Carmen. As avid lovers of Peruvian cuisine, my partner and I were thrilled to stumble upon this hidden gem during our vacation. From the moment we stepped inside, we knew we were in for a treat.
The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, adorned with vibrant Peruvian decorations that transport you to the colorful streets of Lima. The attentive staff greeted us with genuine smiles, making us feel like welcomed guests in their home.
Now let's talk about the food! The ceviche, bursting with freshness and tangy flavors, was a perfect start to our culinary journey. The anticuchos, marinated and grilled to perfection, were tender and had just the right amount of smokiness. We also couldn't resist trying the lomo saltado, a classic Peruvian stir-fry, which was simply mouthwatering. The beverage selection was equally impressive, with an extensive array of cocktails and refreshing chicha morada, a traditional Peruvian purple corn drink. We opted for the pisco sour, and it was expertly crafted, balancing the tartness of the lime with the smoothness of the pisco.
To top it all off, the prices were incredibly reasonable for the food servedand the overall experience. Restaurante Peruano Machupicchu offers exceptional value for the exceptional quality they deliver.

I ordered several classic Peruvian dishes, including Papa a la Huancaina, Leche de Tigre, Ceviche, and Parihuela, but unfortunately, none of them lived up to expectations.
While I wasn't expecting culinary perfection, given that we're in Playa Del Carmen, I was at least hoping for some semblance of authenticity. Sadly, this establishment failed to deliver on even that front. If you're Peruvian, I highly recommend looking elsewhere.
Furthermore, the service could have been better. Our waiter seemed irritable. He became visibly upset when he realized that our table was paying separately, insisting that we should have informed him beforehand. His unprofessional behavior left a sour taste in our mouths and further solidified our decision to...
Read moreWe found this restaurant by accident just around the corner from our hotel. To say that we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement. The food in this place is amazingly delicious: full of flavour, and made with care. The waiter took time to explain the dishes to us, Gave us advice about which dish was the star of the menu, and was very attentive. Importantly the menu here is very reasonably priced, especially considering how much money how much food you were getting for the price of the dish. Highly recommend, a great find in...
