La Carona De Pancho Villa — Restaurant in Progreso

This was the best place we'd eaten on our entire cruise vacation; both on the boat and off. The steak was so incredibly succulent. You could taste how happy the cows were and the meat was so very well taken care of it ate with the most delicious buttery texture. The service was by far the greatest and we weren't treated like tourists, we were treated like family. When I asked our server how long he'd owned the place, he said, oh no, I'm just a server. That impressed me so hard core. I love this place. Me and my wife talk about the food all the time and we even dream about the steak every now and again. Update: the owner must be listening, every time we walk by or eat at Barlaventos the music is relaxing and not too loud. We will try eating at your restaurant.

I have never eaten here. The place is almost always empty because the managers believe customers love extremely loud and many times heavy metal music. Horrible music. Quite often customers next door at Barlaventos ask management to turn down the music and they don’t listen. Message to owner, most of your customers are retired and enjoy relaxing. Food was very bland, but cheap so i can’t be too mad. Person who i believe was the owner flagged us down for a round of Coronas, tried over charging us until we corrected it. Decided to get a few chicken tacos and cheese quesadillas. Didn’t bring my change back until i asked(gave him a $20 for a $10 meal), then proceeded to tell me not to forget his tip when he finally did bring it.
