I can not recommend II Bacarro in La Veleta. First of all, I ordered a prosciutto pizza with arugula and Parmesan cheese. It was $250.00 pesos. When I received the pizza it had square pieces of sandwich ham. I told the women manager who was also the server from Argentina. She told me that was prosciutto and they only had 1 kind of ham. I noticed the menu had 3 kinds of ham, 1 being prosciutto. Then she told me all 3 hams were prosciutto. At no point did she I’m sorry, let me fix it, or the kitchen made a mistake. All she wanted to do is argue and not solve the problem. In addition, when she had a busier bring me my bill for $250.00 and I handed him a $500.00 bill, he asked me if I wanted my change. Oh, yes, I would like my change. Are you serious? I asked to talk to the owner and she informed me the owner only comes in during the day. I asked what time and she replied at 4pm. I stoped bye at 4pm the next day to be confronted by the manager again. She asked me why I was there. I reminded her she told me the owner would be there at 4. She said, I never told you that. Let’s getting straight. I am the customer, you are working for an owner who has no idea why his restaurant is always empty. It he only knew how you treated his guests, you would sent back to Argentina. So, I have been living in La Veleta for 2 years. II Bacaro II opened 1 year ago. It is the MOST expensive in the area. It looks good from the outside, but the food is average and drinks really expensive. You will NEVER see any locals or Mexicans in this restaurant. It is made and designed for tourists. If you want average food, poor service, and a high bill, then you will be happy here. If you want excellent Italian food especially pasta, try Canova 1 block away. Excellent quality and fair prices. If you want really good pizza, try Manglar about 6 blocks away. It’s where all the locals go and it fantastic with great prices. Again, stay away from II Baccaro, just average food, high prices, and horrible service. I have asked the owner to call me on several different occasional, and he has yet to reach out to me. Obviously, he doesn’t care what or how his staff...

Read moreI wish I could give a place negative stars, if I could I would do it for this place. The service was slow the food was barely passable at best. After a long day of traveling from the US our group of 6 walked by this place and the ambiance looked pretty good and based on the reviews we were expecting a satisfying meal. However our experience was exactly the opposite. It took us over 30 min to get our first round of drinks. Then an hour after we ordered our food, only 3 of us got our food and we had to call attention to different staff members 3 times before the rest of the food came as our waiter did not check on us once during the service. Even when the remainder of the food was delivered to our table, the food that came out was not what we ordered. In terms of the quality of the food the bread was stale, the carbonara was ice cold, the burger was dry, the steak was chewy, the gnocchi with tomato sauce was flavorless, and the meat ravioli tasted like Chef Boyardee. After we brought to management’s attention that our food came much later than was expected and that the quality was not to expectations they tried to tell us that we did not wait that long for our food and it was clear that they did not care about listening to their customers. Long story short I would not recommend coming here as we got below average food and sub...
