I can not recommend II Bacarro in La Veleta. First of all, I ordered a prosciutto pizza with arugula and Parmesan cheese. It was $250.00 pesos. When I received the pizza it had square pieces of sandwich ham. I told the women manager who was also the server from Argentina. She told me that was prosciutto and they only had 1 kind of ham. I noticed the menu had 3 kinds of ham, 1 being prosciutto. Then she told me all 3 hams were prosciutto. At no point did she I’m sorry, let me fix it, or the kitchen made a mistake. All she wanted to do is argue and not solve the problem. In addition, when she had a busier bring me my bill for $250.00 and I handed him a $500.00 bill, he asked me if I wanted my change. Oh, yes, I would like my change. Are you serious? I asked to talk to the owner and she informed me the owner only comes in during the day. I asked what time and she replied at 4pm. I stoped bye at 4pm the next day to be confronted by the manager again. She asked me why I was there. I reminded her she told me the owner would be there at 4. She said, I never told you that. Let’s getting straight. I am the customer, you are working for an owner who has no idea why his restaurant is always empty. It he only knew how you treated his guests, you would sent back to Argentina. So, I have been living in La Veleta for 2 years. II Bacaro II opened 1 year ago. It is the MOST expensive in the area. It looks good from the outside, but the food is average and drinks really expensive. You will NEVER see any locals or Mexicans in this restaurant. It is made and designed for tourists. If you want average food, poor service, and a high bill, then you will be happy here. If you want excellent Italian food especially pasta, try Canova 1 block away. Excellent quality and fair prices. If you want really good pizza, try Manglar about 6 blocks away. It’s where all the locals go and it fantastic with great prices. Again, stay away from II Baccaro, just average food, high prices, and horrible service. I have asked the owner to call me on several different occasional, and he has yet to reach out to me. Obviously, he doesn’t care what or how his staff...

Embarking on a quest for the quintessential Italian dining experience in Tulum, one that won’t deplete your wallet yet promises a gastronomic journey as authentic and enchanting as if you were nestled in the heart of Sicily or strolling through the historic streets of Rome, look no further. The offerings here, passionately recommended by the exceptional server José, transcend mere food to become a celestial symphony of flavors. Each dish, from the appetizers to the main courses and the desserts, is a masterclass in culinary brilliance, an explosion of well-harmonized flavors that beckon with the promise of more divine tastes to explore. Tulum hosts its fair share of Italian eateries, yet this gem stands unparalleled, a beacon of magic in taste that must be experienced to be believed. The drinks? Crafted to perfection, each sip a testament to their mixological prowess. This isn't just the best Italian dining experience I've encountered during my extensive six-month sojourn in Mexico; it's a revelation, a culinary marvel that flawlessly captures the essence of Italian cuisine. The ambiance and vibe have been curated with just as much care and attention to detail, ensuring that every moment spent here is as enchanting as the food is exquisite. I implore you, come, experience, and attempt to prove me wrong – though I assure you, it’s a challenge you will...

I wish I could give a place negative stars, if I could I would do it for this place. The service was slow the food was barely passable at best. After a long day of traveling from the US our group of 6 walked by this place and the ambiance looked pretty good and based on the reviews we were expecting a satisfying meal. However our experience was exactly the opposite. It took us over 30 min to get our first round of drinks. Then an hour after we ordered our food, only 3 of us got our food and we had to call attention to different staff members 3 times before the rest of the food came as our waiter did not check on us once during the service. Even when the remainder of the food was delivered to our table, the food that came out was not what we ordered. In terms of the quality of the food the bread was stale, the carbonara was ice cold, the burger was dry, the steak was chewy, the gnocchi with tomato sauce was flavorless, and the meat ravioli tasted like Chef Boyardee. After we brought to management’s attention that our food came much later than was expected and that the quality was not to expectations they tried to tell us that we did not wait that long for our food and it was clear that they did not care about listening to their customers. Long story short I would not recommend coming here as we got below average food and sub...

Overall a really nice restaurant with just a few strange quirks. We had excellent drinks and food from them! They brought out bread with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and parmesan at no cost, and we ordered a pizza and pasta which were both great! The astetic of the restaurant was also beatuful and modern! The strange quirks were fairly minor, but worth noting: The waiter hovered around our table at first as soon as we sat down which was kind of awkward, but I told him we needed a few more minutes and he left us for a bit which was good. The bottles that held the olive oil and balsamic vinegar had to be shaken to get the liquids out, which could be quite messy, especially with the balsamic! I think the bread and condiments would be better served with a small bowl to put the condiments in, and bottles for them that poured instead of squirted. And the bathroom lighting is very dark and isn't in the greatest position for men (while standing, you cast a shadow over the toilet), and perhaps the strangest thing, the soap is in a vase? So you've got to pick up the whole container and pour it out. But besides these small things, it is a very nice restaurant!

One of the best lasagna I’ve ever tasted! Same for my friend who is Italian and is a foodie. It is the highlight of the menu. I have been MANY times haha. Thin layers of pasta cheese it’s like you cut into butter. The lasagna alone makes me put a 5 star to the restaurent ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ instead of 4. Also awesome customer service and good pizza! The only negative thing is that the lasagna is one of the only good thing in their menu. I’ve tasted a lot of their pasta and meal and non where as tasty and high level as the lasagna. I went often and even had to return my pasta because the sauce was so so… (that I tried for the first time to explore). This bacaro is farthest from downtown so it’s less crowded. On a Wednesday I went and I think there was a festival and the wait was around 15-20 min for two. I tried the restaurants in the alley beside it and it was a beautiful discovery! I totally recommend even if they do not have many reviews. I think they upgraded the menu. Prices are on the higher side. 20$ CAN or 14$ US for a drink. I will definitely come back! I don’t know if I will be brave enough to taste other things or stick to my fav though 🤷🏻‍♀️✨
