La Taque Tulum — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

*Unsanitary cooking practices: we were looking forward to having tacos for dinner but unfortunately were met with terrible food handling. We were the only customers and ordered food to go. But we were shocked when we saw the cook touching raw meat without washing his hands and then wiping it on his pants. Then he used the same knife and cutting board from the raw meat to cut the cilantro and pineapple without wiping or cleaning any of it. And then he put the cooked me back on the raw meat cutting board with the same knife. We should’ve said something in the moment, but we were so in shock and disgusted that we just threw away our food immediately upon leaving. We were not going to risk getting sick. WOW!! we just ate here and the taco’s were unreal - and for the price amazing value for money, we had guac and chips, 3 taco’s each and they had an offer on for a 1L beer for 80 pesos - we enjoyed the tacos so much we ordered more. The service was amazing i didn’t catch the gentleman’s name who served us but he was so informative and genuine. On a Sunday we found this gem after walking, and we we're so glad we did. The waiter was so nice and attentive, the ceviche was huge (we ordered a medium) and absolutely so fresh, it melted in our mouths. The drinks were great, especially the spicy margarita & the Pina colada. We got the tacos pastor and the taque, and Hawaiiana fajitas, which were all so incredible. The tacos were super fresh and hot. Honestly, we might just eat here the rest...
