This is an absolutely fantastic place in terms of the food and the warm hospitality. Proprietor Paola is incredibly welcoming, gracious and accommodating of your needs and requests. And the food is absolutely delicious, varied and abundant, with a high level of attention to detail and a variety and complexity of flavors that belie the fresh simple ingredients. There is no daily menu since Paola buys what she sees as the best offerings of the market that day. And boy can she cook! We had a sumptuous multi-course meal: first a fabulous tapenade with bread toasted slightly and just right, then a salad with sliced pear and lightly seared spinach and cream. The next course was a homemade burrata on a bed of grilled stewed tomatoes. The burrata was accompanied by multiple delicious different veggie sides: sautéed eggplant, thinly sliced zucchini, and ratatouille. And then a main course of pasta with mussels, shrimp and fish, with tangy tasty wonderful flavors. The meal finished with a marvelous cake she called “salame chocolate” (light Italian cake of chocolate usually prepared by Italian grandmothers) and a limoncello.
The meal was fantastic by any measure and for the price of 600 pesos, it was beyond reasonable.
This is a special chef-curated place with a warm kind Italian grandmother in charge attending to your every need. It clearly matters to Paola for her patrons to enjoy and savor her...
Read moreOMG if you are in Tulum you have got to try Osteria Veneziana!!!! We had dinner there our send night in Tulum and then went back the next night! It has a family style approach and the owner/cook was amazing!!! We told her what we were allergic to and our dislikes and she catered to us. The food was so fresh and so full of flavor. It was like my grandmother was cooking for us. A must if you're in downtown and the price was so worth every penny. It felt like we had an 8 course meal (I forgot to take pictures of some of the dishes) for $600 pesos total for 4 of us and we had drinks. We were all miserably full because we just couldn't stop eating. As others have said the owner makes you feel like you’re having dinner with your grandmother and she just makes you feel...
Read moreI was recommended this gem by a local Italian woman who swore it was the best place in Tulum for truly authentic Italian cuisine—and she was absolutely right. There’s no menu here, which adds to the charm. Instead, you’re welcomed with a personal touch and flavors that feel straight from Italy.
The experience begins when the owner personally comes to your table and simply asks, “How hungry are you?” From there, you just sit back, relax, and enjoy the culinary adventure as course after course of delicious food arrives. It’s like eating at someone’s home—warm, unpretentious, and made with heart. Every dish is a surprise, and every bite feels like a little trip to Italy.
It’s not just a meal—it’s an experience. Highly...
