Santino Bar — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

Avoid Santino Night Club at all costs. I came here with my boyfriend looking for a fun night out in Tulum, and it turned into one of the worst club experiences I’ve ever had. At first, the place seemed fine (even though it was empty when we arrived), but the staff’s attitude quickly ruined the vibe. They were rude to everyone—especially locals—and snapped at us for the smallest things.

The breaking point? As I was dancing, the security guard straight-up hit me in the throat. He tried to play it off like it was “accidental,” mumbled a half-apology, and then went back to chatting like nothing happened. No accountability. When my boyfriend calmly asked for a proper apology, the promoter jumped in, got aggressive, and acted like we were the problem. Instead of addressing their own staff’s behavior, they singled us out, threatened us, and kicked us out.

This place treats guests like trash, barking orders and pushing people around instead of respecting them as paying customers. The vibe is dead, the music is forgettable, and the staff clearly pick favorites while making everyone else feel unwelcome and disrespected.

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would do so in a heart beat. The place is crowded to the point you can’t even breath. If you try to move even an inch, then you’ll most likely get threatened with a beating. We were given access to the 2nd floor so we could make our way to the 3rd floor, which is the popular rooftop. Yeah, don’t bother. We were told to knock on the door (which is right across the bar) and pay 100 pesos/pp. Don’t bother. The guy at the door was a complete d*ck. He ignored me and slammed the door on my hand, resulting in a broken finger. Initially, we thought we weren’t “attractive enough,” but then two stunning women approached the door and were also denied access. The doorman didn’t allow anyone in. We went there yesterday and the girl working behind the bar - at the rooftop - tried to rip us off by charging us twice the price we actually had to pay. I asked her how much, wanted to pay with creditcard and she already inserted my card so the only thing I had to do was inserting my pin. Therefore I wouldnt see the amount anymore on the payment machine. I asked her to cancel, saw the shockenly amount of 517 mxn pesos (for 4 beers and a water!). I told her off nicely, asked her again how much it was and told her I wanted to see the real amount we had to pay on the payment machine before I would agree on entering my pin - this time she showed me and it was "only" 275MXN. She gave herself also a 10% tip, lol. The people next to me were shocked too, I myself was still too flabbergasted by this behaviour "without a sorry or whatever", so we drank our beers and left...
