How should I say this? Don't come here. Come to México for good Mexican food, and not this. Sorry to say. Maybe I'm being too critical. I'm glad to see so many other reviewers liking this place. Out of all the ramen and sushi I've had all over the world, this would be bottom tier.
I sat at the outdoor counter. There was a table of four and table of two inside. The upside? Great fast and attentive service. Love and kind waitress whose name I didn't get that brought a smile to my face. That's about it.
The ramen noodles weren't even ramen noodles. I had both the traditional chicken and vegan option as well as the vegan sushi roll, and Uno roll but told them to not add cheese. The fact that it seems almost every sushi roll on the menu had 'Philadelphia cheese' in it should have been enough of a red flag. I ordered the Uno roll but without the cheese, but it's super close to where I'm staying and inexpensive enough.
Not sure what's the story on that dish with rice and sauce they served up to start. Nothing but salt. None of what I ordered was all that flavorful. Sushi rolls weren't rolled and put together properly. Easily fell apart. I hate leaving bad reviews. If this restaurant is doing well, then great. Maybe the locals don't know any better in what good sushi and ramen is supposed to feel and taste like. Otherwise, I recommend the owner bring in a real experienced professional to show the staff how to make things right. Or option b, shut the whole place down and come up with a new restaurant idea. Bottom tier...
Read moreThe worst sin in life is being deceitful, don't pretend to be a hip Japanese restaurant if you can't deliver.
Just like its name UNO gets one star due to its poor quality of ingredients and lousy execution.
I don't know if the owner is away, sick or dead but he should seriously consider retaking the reigns of the restaurant for it is nosediving into Oblivion.
The "gyoza" are the worst fried flour empanadas that I have tried in all my life. Calling it gyoza is a slap across the face to any customer that entrusted you to provide Japanese food.
Now if the gyoza is a terrible empanada what is the curry udon? Well the curry udon is basically trash and inedible; a stray passerby dog didn't even take a second look. The beef and pork are rubbery, unflavorful, unseasoned and cooked by someone that should never be infront of a grill again. The "udon" noodles are overcooked mush that makes you gag. The "curry" is actually curry powder seasoning that would make several Asian countries revolt; absolutely disgusting supermarket bought curry seasoning.
I think I've said enough to give you an idea of what this place is. Don't stop, don't check it out to make your own decision. Save your money save the aggravation, save your stomachs and...
Read moreI came to this place because of the positive reviews that this was the spot to be. I don't normally leave a review, but feel like maybe this place needs some improvements. I'm a huge fan of Japanese Ramen and have had it on nearly every continent in the world and also from the motherland itself in Japan. So from this point of view, my review is....The positives: I order the Nigiri Grilled Eel tasted good. The Negatives: the Salmon Nigiri tasted like the Salmon was old as it had a really fishy taste. This dish of two pieces of Nigiri took 20minutes to come out. I also order the traditional Ramen with pork broth as I was craving for some good Ramen. Sorry to say it was a huge disappointment. Not only did I want a further 30minutes for this dish, it is not a traditional pork broth Ramen. It is just a little better than packet Ramen. I didn't want to judge this place too harshly, but it just felt like they didn't try to make it traditional by adding in ingredients that should not belong in traditional Ramen. So overall, if you want average sushi, get any that does not involve raw ingredients. Do not come here for the Ramen. And don't come hungry as you will be waiting a...
