Deeply disappointing and downright infuriating experience. The so-called "vegan" dumplings are anything but. It came to my attention that they are, in fact, made with animal products, so one of the waiters told me after ordering them. But he had told me they were vegan. This is not just a minor oversight—it's a blatant lie and a serious ethical violation, especially considering the number of people who rely on accurate food labeling for dietary, health, and moral reasons. This deception is not only unethical but potentially harmful to those with dietary restrictions.
However, the most appalling aspect of this establishment is the service. When I tried to address my concerns, I was met with hostility and blatant disregard. It's clear that customer service is not a priority here. Adding insult to injury, and then reading all the bad reviews, (which I should have done sooner), I saw this place has a track record of responding rudely to negative reviews instead of making any effort to improve. This defensive and aggressive approach to feedback is telling of a business that cares more about saving face than providing a quality experience. In conclusion, avoid [Restaurant Name] at all costs. Their unethical practices, poor food quality, lack of sanitary measurements and abysmal customer service make it a place not worth your...

Well balanced and authentic flavors; good value for where you are. I agree with the owner that the squat seating area circumscribed by bare concrete walls really gives this place a certain je ne se quoi. Encourage folks to walk around for some popsicles/smoothies/gelato near by after the meal. With a couple of exceptions, during the time we were there, it seems like every Chinese or Chinese America tourist in the area drops by. Quite amazing in Tulum, MX of all places. To the owner: congrats for setting up quality food with an unforgettable experience.
I'm sorry, but the owner's response to some of the silly reviews got me to give 5 stars even before our family from NYC is going to go there for that hopefully awesome food in the next day or two, or both days maybe. Keep it up. In a world of owner replies to restaurant customer Google reviews that sound like AI or some overpaid vendor service managing a restaurant's social media with canned responses, this is a breath of fresh air. Or perhaps a breath of garlicy, Szechuan peppercorn,...
Read moreSurprisingly authentic Chinese food in Tulum. We got biang biang noodles, Shanghai dumplings, and 2 coconut water drinks for the equivalent of $30 USD after tips.
The menu is short so they can focus on quality. The biang biang noodles were obviously hand made and I wouldn't be surprised if everything else is as well.
We found it a bit pricey for the size of the dish, but the price still felt justified for the quality.
It had a good atmosphere for a restaurant that is just a window with some off-street outdoor seating with short tables.
The staff were super friendly and the owners stopped by with their baby. They chatted with a few customers -- a couple regulars, a local that's been around long enough to know about their old location and Instagram, and the wife was happy to speak Chinese.
They accept credit cards and do not add a 5% fee (which seems rare for a family owned restaurant).
Overall, it's a great place and I'm happy I visited, but I was still hungry afterwards. I recommend you go and if you are still hungry, top off your meal with 3 quesadillas for $60 MXN from a nearby...
