I found myself at XIN-GAO, a restaurant located in Xcaret Hotel Mexico, one night for a dinner experience that I won't soon forget. The restaurant, helmed by Chef Arzapalo, offers four unique dining experiences that showcase the best of Japanese flavors and techniques, including Teppanyaki, Robatayaki, Fusion, and Omakase.

As soon as I walked into the restaurant, I was struck by the modern decor and beautiful concrete artwork on display throughout the space. After a slight hiccup with our reservation, we were eventually seated in front of the sushi bar, which was exactly where we wanted to be. Our server Viviana Garcia stood next to us practically all night, making sure everything was perfect, and we were thrilled to be seated right in front of the sushi chef, Angel Camacho, and the always-smiling Yeyezi Garcia which allows us to see her careful creations at work.

We started our meal with a Tampico Roll, which was an explosion of flavors in our mouths. The wait was well worth it for this dish. From there, we enjoyed a large variety of dishes including hand rolls, sashimi, and dumplings seasoned with a delicious white sauce. The Arcoiris Roll was particularly amazing, packed with flavor and expertly prepared.

Next, we were blown away by the Toshimi Tuna, which was to die for. The marbling of the fat was simply amazing and melted in our mouths. The Sashimi Salmon, while not quite as good as the tuna, was still extremely impressive and delicious.

But the big surprise of the night was the dish we dubbed "Going to Heaven." This dish was a combination of Wagyu beef, spectacular tuna, and salmon rolled and placed on a bed of branches. The presentation was stunning, with flowers, slices of lemons, and salmon with marbling fit for a king. It was one of the best birthday dinners I've had in a long time.

Throughout the night, the staff was incredibly attentive and considerate. Pedro and Pablo at the bar kept us surprised with drinks that were more like dreams, each more colorful and delicious than the last. And all the while, the staff made sure our food was perfect, with Angel Camacho and his team transferring tons of data to ensure the flavors were just right.

I truly love coming to XIN-GAO not just for the food and beautiful buildings, but also for the wonderful people that I meet. The servers, bartenders, and managers are all impeccably trained and have the perfect attitude to take care of everything you need. And they do it all with a smile.

One thing I do want to emphasize is the importance of tipping. Just because you're at an all-inclusive restaurant doesn't mean service is included. These people work for tips, and it's their main source of income. So please, tip generously if you receive excellent service. I saw a table of seven people who ordered everything on the menu and then some, but left a tip of only $5. It was heartbreaking to see how hard the staff was working for so little reward. Remember, tipping 15-20% is standard in Mexico and the US.

In conclusion, I had an amazing time at XIN-GAO. The food was outstanding, the staff was attentive and friendly, and the ambiance was perfect. Even with a minor glitch at the beginning, they were able to quickly fix the issue and provide an unforgettable dining experience. My wife and I left with full bellies, happy hearts, and a ton of photos to...

PLEASE READ I would like to extend a heartfelt and enthusiastic shoutout to Liliana (I trust that is the correct spelling). She is, without a doubt, one of the most gracious and hospitable individuals we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Her extensive knowledge of the menu and her thoughtful suggestions were nothing short of extraordinary. Liliana expertly recommended drinks to accompany our dinner and suggested dishes with such confidence and enthusiasm that we eagerly tried all her recommendations—and we were not disappointed.

There are rare occasions when one encounters a person who truly embodies the essence of exceptional service and hospitality. Liliana is, unequivocally, one of those rare gems.

As someone who works in the customer service industry and manages a fairly large team, I can recognize outstanding talent when I see it. Although we are here on vacation, I can’t help but imagine how invaluable Liliana would be to my team if my company were based here. Her innate ability to connect with customers and provide an unparalleled dining experience is remarkable.

I sincerely hope that the owners of this resort and her managers take notice of this review. Liliana’s kindness, politeness, and professionalism make her an ideal candidate for a leadership role in customer service training. This is not to cast a shadow on the efforts of her colleagues, but rather to shine a spotlight on Liliana’s exceptional abilities.

During our stay, if we find ourselves returning to that restaurant, we will undoubtedly request Liliana as our server. She has set a new benchmark for us, and her level of service is something we will remember and aspire to in our own professional lives. Liliana’s dedication to her craft and her genuine care for her customers have left an indelible impression on us, and we are immensely grateful for the wonderful experience...

Review of Xin-Gao Restaurant Hotel

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Xin-Gao Restaurant Hotel, and overall, it was a delightful experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, with stunning decorations that truly enhanced our dining experience. The restaurant's aesthetic is a feast for the eyes, making it an ideal setting for any occasion.

The food was simply delicious! Each dish we ordered was flavor able, and we relished every bite.

Our waitress was fantastic—attentive, friendly, for most of the our visit.

However, there were a couple of downsides that dampened our experience. The smoke from the "wanna be Benihana" section was overwhelming at times, detracting from the otherwise pleasant atmosphere. Additionally, despite the efforts of the staff, they forgot to bring out my son's birthday cake out which was truly disappointing. This oversight affected our celebration and left a sour note on what could have been a perfect evening. Not sure if it was host or the waitress fault but both fail after being notified of our celebration.

Given these factors, I’m hesitant to return to Xin-Gao, as the issues we encountered had a significant impact on our experience. While the food and ambiance were commendable, the smoke and the birthday cake mishap ultimately overshadowed...

Xin Gao is my FAVORITE restaurant at Xcaret. So much so that we went 3 nights out of our 4 nights at Xcaret. Everyone just takes care of you so well! Our favorite meals were at the sushi bar, everything was prepared so well and tasted DELICIOUS. I highly recommend everyone who likes sushi to give the sushi bar a try. There’s only 4 seats for 2 couples at the sushi bar though, so I would make reservations ahead of time. My favorite dish was definitely the toro appetizer that was apart of the omakase. My favorite appetizer was the Crispy Wonton. I would do anything to taste it again!! I had the fusion option one night and the food was good too, but personally I LOVE sushi so I would just do the sushi bar. I wasn’t sure of any of the names of the drinks I ordered as I just always asked for them to surprise me. I was surprised every time, but it was always in the good way! When I return to Xcaret, I’ll be back to Xin Gao!
