Dragón Chino — Restaurant in San Miguel de Allende

This is a kind of hidden away gem. You might even drive past it a couple of times and not even recognize that it’s there. It does have a big sign that says Dragon on the outside but it’s tucked away really nicely right off the main drag. The food is phenomenal. Again, the food is phenomenal. I was born and raised in California. Grew up in the bay area eating Chinese food since I was four years. This is probably by far the best Chinese food establishment, OK maybe there’s one other one other place in South Bay that might compare to this place. Don’t let the small seating area inside fool you. They do most of their business by deliveries in the evening, so if you go in the afternoon, you have to place pretty much do yourself. With COVID, I’ve asked Dragon Chino for home deliveries a number of times during all of this.

Each time, the meals are just as delicious, extremely plentiful, hot, and delivered on time.

They also have home delivery with beer with the meals, too. (Haven’t asked for other bar beverages.)

Always a pleasure dining here. Very nice people; an extensive menu, delicious food, reasonable prices. I get a discount because they’re a member of the SMA VIP club. And, as for me, it has always been two meals for the price of one. The servings have been so large that there’s always a lot to take...

I’m honestly confused by this restaurant’s high Google rating, which is why we decided to give it a try, but it fell far short of expectations. The dining area was so dark it felt like eating in a cave, and the hour-and-a-half wait for our food only built anticipation for a meal that never delivered. We weren’t in a rush, hoping the long wait meant the kitchen was crafting something special, but the food was a major disappointment.
