This place has been on of our favorites for years, we had our wedding reception here and generally stop in once every month or so. We decided to take Mom out for Mother's Day here, confident that she would be treated well on her special day...
The 'jarras' of lemonade had no sugar. We had to send them back to be sweetened.
My wife's cilantro soup was missing the chicken that is included in the menu. By the time they brought out the chicken (not as much as usually served with the soup), the soup was cold. The soup was also saltier than normal, so much so that my wife did not finish it.
My bean soup was served without the cheese that is supposed to go in it. By the time they brought out the cold cheese, my soup was lukewarm. It was gross eating cold cheese in my lukewarm soup.
My mother was brought a salad with lemon chicken on it instead of the regular grilled chicken that she asked for.
Before my mom was served her salad, they served her main dish: almond trout. When it was pointed out to the staff that they needed to bring the salad out first, as originally requested, they must have stuck it under a heating lamp for 30 minutes until she finished her salad. This resulted in lukewarm, dry, crumbly mashed potatoes, cold asparagus, and lukewarm fish. My mom is allergic to nuts and she specifically asked them to hold the nuts, but it was covered in them.
I did order the lemon chicken salad (the same kind my Mom was served, even though she asked for something else) and on both salads the chicken was over-marinated and super-acidic. It was sent back as inedible.
In all fairness, the waiting staff were very courteous, if a bit discombobulated - every one seemed new and confused. When I asked to speak to the manager I was told she would be out in a few minutes. Forty-five minutes later, I asked again. We waited another few minutes and then got tired of spending our Sunday afternoon waiting for someone who seemed not to care.
The one positive of this disappointing experience was that the manager refunded one of the lemon chicken salads. We were very frustrated that the manager did not seem to care about making things right, nor about respecting my repeated requests, in front of my guests, to come resolve these issues. To clarify, the manager never showed up - the refund was relayed to us through a server. We are very saddened by these events, so much so that we will not be coming back to this once-favorite restaurant.

Read moreFirst night on SMA ran into this place about 815PM they were still serving people and sitting more people. Food was excellent, do not expect to have the same ingredients or preparation as in other parts of Mexico like the Chiles Rellenos or Sopes, Chiles Rellenos are not stuffed with the cheese you may be familiar with or being "capeados" but are still very yummy. Sopes are filled with black beans and toped with the known ingredients but with a big miss: tomatoes sauce 😬 anyway very yummy, once I topped it with some tomato sauce like the one used in the Chile relleno, this dish was delicious. Prices are very affordable and staff service is the best. The patio in the front is very nice with the privacy wall made of natural plants. Super recommended for...
Read moreI love Lolita's. We had a delicious traditional breakfast which consisted of green chilaquiles, carrot cake, sopes and good coffee. The only thing that didn't sit very well with me was that we had a Great waiter and when it was time to pay, a young lady approached me asking if it was credit or cash. She took my cash and asked if I needed change, I replied no, it's for the waiter. I immediately felt weird about it and followed her. When I got close, she was putting something in her pocket and I asked her if she would be giving the waiter his tip? She looked at her coworker and then said, yes I'll give it to him. Something tells me she was lying, so please please please....hand your waitstaff...
