Tortitlan — Restaurant in San Miguel de Allende

QUITE GOOD. Worth the $200 per person if you get plates and drinks, or, half that, if you do tortas.

Edit: (10 December 2024) Stopped with extended family after a medical procedure to relax and eat great food.

Everyone else had monster-sized tortas, I had a chicken Cesar salad. We all had house-made fruit drinks. Quite good! $770 for 4 adults and 2 children.

We got to sit up on the second level! Quite a good view. Quiet, cool, comfortable.

You can't miss this place! You must try it. This is our 10th visit, and we would visit more, but we don't live directly in San Miguel. Pretty far out of town.

This seems like a chain fast food restaurant serving Tortas which are Mexican sandwiches of total deliciousness. There are many varieties using beef, pork chicken, avocado, ham, with names like The Cubano, the Chihuahua, etc. or you can create your own torta with a list of ingredients. You can get your plate to go and eat at the park if you wish. They also make hamburgers. I ordered the Chihuahua, it had beef, white cheese, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, avocado, and Chipotle sauce. My husband got the same but omitted the sauce with a lemonade. Tortitlan is a fast-service torta spot with cafeteria-style seating up front. They offer a wide variety of sandwich tortas, and I went with the San Miguel—pure heaven! It’s loaded with thinly sliced mushrooms, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and all the fixings, stacked high for a satisfying meal. Paired it with a side of fries, and it was a perfect lunch.
