Jeanie's is really one of those one stop shops for people out and about in Cozumel.
We actually came here initially after signing up for a bubble helmet diving/snorkeling excursion. We ended up hanging here longer than we expected! There are really 3 parts to this place, The excursion/beach option, the restaurant, and the pearl shop. All in one handy building.
First the excursions. You can do the dive helmet one which i highly recommend. It's like walking on another planet! And if you don't like to snorkel or scuba scares you this is perfect! I wasn't claustrophobic like I thought I would be, and it didn't bother my asthma. Win! You are also free to snorkel or scuba off the beach into the ocean there. There's a platform a little ways out you can swim out to and just hang out on. They have an old wrecked plane working on coralizing and even brought over a very docile stingray for us to hold! The pearl shop farms the oysters here so you got to see all of that going down as well.
After your excursion you can go back and browse the shop while you wait on your photos and videos to upload and be displayed for your viewing pleasure. The females get a free anklet and the boys get a free shot of tequila. Win #2!
Also included with our excursion were 2 free drinks. We opted to each have a margarita (it is Mexico after all) and it was DELICIOUS! And as we were finishing our first my husband and I decided food might be a good idea, if the drinks were that strong. We got the sampler appetizer of tacos, taquitos, quesidilla and nachos. This is your real Mexican food. And it was all delicious. I hate beans. I especially hate re-fried beans. All of the nachos were covered in it and I devoured it it was that good! It also came with a side of salsa and a really really hot jalapeno sauce if you wanted it. The food and the drinks were amazing! The service was so-so but I believe that was because the daughter doing most of the waitressing didn't speak much English, as an older woman took our order and what not. But still I'm glad we decided to eat and drink there instead of next door...

I was already having my food when suddenly a big cockroach jumped from the bar to my table and started walking in my plate and all over the table. I called the manager he move it with the hand from the table and then push it to the street with whit his feet to kill it later with his shoe. Came back and ask the waitress to change our table and the meals. He did not apologized, neither the waitress, she brought more food and charged full amount, and asked me how much tip I wanted to add for her service. Seriously???? besides of that, the waitress at the beginning told me they will offer a show and I can take a picture with the dancers wearing the original costume, what she did not tell me, was they will charge me for that. Those nice ladies asked me for 5 dollars to take a photo with them with my own cell phone, I did not have a 5 dollars bill only 10 and she said they accepted any contribution for a "ladies association" ... I will never ever go back to that place the cockroach came out of the kitchen, means where they prepared the food you eat you have no idea what kind of creatures are walking around your food, the manger rude and didn't care and it was an abuse to offer photos with the performers without letting you know they will charge you. Horrible experience. If you want to eat in a place that has Cockroaches in the kitchen this is the place you are...
