So much potential....Unfortunately, the super weird music ruins the vibe. It's mostly been some Arabic sounding stuff (which would be fine if others were enjoying it but they're clearly not) and German songs (no Germans singing along that I can tell). I asked a waitress about it and she said the manager plays what she likes only and that they try to get the Serbian crew members to come when they are in port. I count 5 of them at a table they pointed out....and there are 100 people here. I've heard several people complaining. Again - if that's what the customers want and I'm outvoted, fine. But no one is enjoying this music. It's not even upbeat and "beachy"! The food is good but lacks some spice...we are in Mexico. The prices are insane BUT if you stay in the Barracuda you get 50% off paying cash. Only then is it reasonable. The staff is hit and miss. Some have been nice and some are only nice if they think you'll tip well. I watched one waitress yell at a family about a flan they had brought in to celebrate a birthday. She was so rude. Tell them they can't bring in food and if they still do it, then you can get sassy but she went straight to sassy. I'm guessing there's some blue green algae in the ocean swim area because I rubbed against the wall and had raised red splotches when I got out. It was the only place I swam that day. We were in the Barracuda 5 nights so this is over several days. If we weren't staying here, we wouldn't have come back. The view is nice...I'll...
Read moreWe were disappointed with our visit to this place. The prices are way high and the food we had less than average for the island. Seating is outdoors on a patio or in the sand under umbrellas. The menus were sticky, filthy. We ordered drinks first. Husband a Sol (beer) and water for me. We also asked for an appetizer of chips and guacamole. The beer and water came out cold, so a good start. Next out came the appetizer. The chips were bland and guacamole could've used something like lime juice or something. It seemed to be just avocado and cilantro. It was ok but nothing special at all. We decided to split a sandwich and ordered a cheeseburger. It took nearly 40 minutes to come out with only one other table of three in the place. The burger was average and not well seasoned. The sheer amount of onions on it was astonishing. I ate three bites and was done trying. The best thing i can say about the sandwich is the top bun was soft and nicely grilled. I will not be going back. There are a lot of restaurants with far better food, service, and...
Read moreWe really liked this place for the amenities and the views. The place is ocean-front, has a pool, a swim-up bar, a sandy patch with tables and chairs and a deck which you can jump off into the ocean from. It's a nice place to kill some time or take it easy in the afternoon.
The prices however, are higher than many other spots (drinks and food). I feel like you pay for your use of the amenities through the price of the food tough, which was fine for us. We tried the banana split (not that great), the guacamole (really tasty) and had a few drinks (mojito, pina colada and sol beer).
They are now affiliated with the Barracuda hotel next door and they will ask if you are from the crew (staying at the hotel) when you order, because guests get a discount. You can still come here if you don't stay here though.
Overall, the place is a nice spot to chill out in the afternoon and we...
