Read moreOMG!!! We sailed in on the Margaritaville at Sea (cruise line out of Tampa) and found this place on line. We have our own snorkel gear, and just wanted to find a place that we could go to and snorkel. Online explained, you have to buy lunch and you can enjoy their beach/snorkel launch all day. It did not say that the lunch would be this delicious, incredible!!! I got shrimp quesadillas and wife got chicken fajitas. A few Captain Morgan and diet Cokes as well. "Carlos" was our server and was great, spoke English very well (as we are not fluent in Spanish). A storm came along and we actually enjoyed the fun. They ran us upstairs to the bar area, perfectly dry, and we continued to have a great time! The food was so good, I didn't want to move. Yummy! We walked here from the port, not terrible - maybe 15/20 minutes. Had to pass a few vendors proclaiming their offer was way better . . . We just kept going. I didn't try theirs, So I can't call them liars - I only can tell you that Sunset exceeded our expectations, and then some. Sunset was perfect for our desire to get a little snorkeling in (excellent snorkeling, many varieties of fish species in a comfortable secure setting) and enjoy some delicious local food. Highly...
Read moreWe were there on a cruise but ventured out on our own to SNUBA. We had a wonderful experience! Didi was our SNUBA guide and he was great. We had classroom instruction in an air conditioned space before going out to practice in the water. Didi took his time to make sure everyone's equipment fit properly and we felt comfortable with all scenarios that might occur while out in the water. We'll definitely go back and request him as a SNUBA guide!
A pleasant surprise after getting out of the water was that the restaurant was just what we needed. The view was perfect, the waitress and staff were friendly, and the food was delicious. Plus, drinks were 2 for 1, so the price was reasonable.
The only comment to make is we were told it was about a 5-8 minute walk from the cruise port. In reality, it was about a 20 minute walk and would have been nice to know this as we kept asking where it was. Just go through the cruise entry area (with all the shops) and take a left at the main street. Walk down (past the bridge) to the Sunset restaurant.
We are so glad that we took a chance and booked our own excursion. We ended up being off the ship for about 4 hours which...
