Pastabar — Restaurant in Budva

Our hostel recommended this place. When we arrived we immediately fell in love with the place, the small yard with the palm tree just next to the Old Town walls. We sat down and ordered. We were the only ones ordering at that time. Out of what we wanted to order, there was no draft beer and salmon pasta, however they were on the menu. Anyway, we ordered something else. After some time, other people arrived to neighboring tables. After around 30 minutes of waiting, the neighboring tables started to get their orders. The waiters looked confused looking at us. One of them approached us apologizing that they ran out of what we have ordered, and we should pick something else. It's clear that they served the last portions of what we ordered to somebody else who ordered the same, later than us. We were quite disappointed, but we tried to order something else. When it turned out that it is also not available, we decided to leave the place. We did not have to pay for the drinks, but this was a very disappointing experience. Why do you have foods and drinks on the menu that are not available? I mean, there were at least 5 different things on the menu that you already ran...

This place is really Great! The service of Maria was fantastic, the food was perfect, my father and I are completely happy and it’s an ideal spot which is very reasonably priced. I had the pesto pasta, it was al dente and exactly what I wanted, the bruschetta entree was nice and crispy with plentiful very nice tomato thinly sliced 🍅

Google maps had a slight bug for me We were trying to find it for lunch while melting in the heat, I worked it out later so we came for dinner instead and I’m glad we did!

FYI it’s just inside the old town wall gates I think they call it pizanella.

Reading over the reviews for this place there seem to be some malicious ones maybe from people having a bad day, maybe it’s a competitive place I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♂️

There are some notable tourist traps close by which look fantastic and have many alerting...

I honestly don’t understand the fuss about this place. It’s definitely not worth the long wait in line. When I asked the waitress what kind of pasta came with a particular dish, she had no idea and just said it depended on what came out of the kitchen. Really? How can a restaurant not know the details of its own menu?

Anyway, I ordered the penne with chicken and broccoli, and to be frank, it was very underwhelming. The dish was drenched in heavy cream, which completely drowned out the flavors of the chicken and broccoli. It tasted like something I could’ve easily made at home—nothing special at all.

Considering the price and the wait, I was expecting much better. The food didn’t justify either the time spent waiting or the menu prices. Overall, a very average experience. Wouldn’t...
