Honestly this place is a tourist trap. It’s situated inside the old town walls and this is a reason they use for high prices. These high prices are not followed by quality of food, nor by the quantity of served food or ingredients. We came for lunch and ordered one portion of grilled calamari and one portion of filled with ham and cheese calamari. Calamari weren’t properly cleaned and had sand inside. They tasted like rubber when chewed. The size of the portion was disgracefully small. The “olive” that they serve with this dish hasn’t seen any olives. They probably pour vegetable oil inside an olive oil bottle. Furthermore, the interior and facilities inside are something to forget. There was a huge loud compressor machine next to the toilet with cables and hoses around. The toilet itself wasn’t clean and had no paper towels and the dryer wasn’t working…go figure. We left this place feeling robbed, hungry and unsatisfied. The prices are extremely high when you take how small the portion size is and how bad the food and service are/were. We won’t be coming back, and I advise you not to try...
Read moreA horrid experience, I deeply regret stepping foot inside this place. It wasn't clean, the food is very expensive and barely edible. The fish and cheese are very obviously frozen and reheated in the microwave - it tasted and looked absolutely ghastly. I am horrified. Nothing was redeemable about this experience. And the server (a slim man with a thin moustache) behaved very poorly towards us. Didn't want to advise us on any aspect of the menu, didn't want to explain what any of the things on the menu were (maybe because they were so confusing and tasteless in the first place, lol). Very, very rude man. Thankfully he didn't ruin our last night in Kotor because we ended up eating at Frej, where they have fresh fish every day and prepare everything the moment you order it! Tastes worlds better. The food at Konoba Roma was completely inedible, we left our plates full. I don't know how they're still in business! I really advise you go to Konoba Scala Santa, Cathedral Pasta Bar,...
Read moreTo be honest, we were planning on eating somewhere else but we are unaware that a reservation is required, so we walked a few steps from the previous restaurant and we saw them. We asked the staff if we can have a table for 2, and they warmly pointed us to our seat. When I checked the menu, I already had my heart set to a seafood platter, but there was no photo of it, We just took the risk and what do you know, that was the risk that I never regretted. The serving was great and the taste satisfied my cravings. I should have asked them to overcook my mussels though, I was just too hungry (and too grateful for the warm welcome), to have thought of the specifics. The staff was super friendly, and we can actually smell our order being prepared, made our mouth water for a minute there. Ooohhh, and I’m not a fan of fish, but I did tried the fish on the platter, and it tasted wonderfulllll…🥰 Truly an amazing experience, highly recommended for mu Filipina...
