Food was okay, but the hostess was utterly disrespectful. We had asked for a reservation, and they said they were fully booked until Friday. However, once we arrived, there were clearly available tables. At the entrance, there was a hostess who was by far the worst I’ve ever encountered. She was extremely disrespectful and acted in a disgraceful manner.
We asked about availability, and she said no, adding that four tables were already on the waiting list. My girlfriend really wanted to sit at this restaurant, so we decided to wait. We asked when the kitchen would close, and she told us 10:30 p.m. While we were waiting, despite the fact that there were available tables and no one else waiting, she never offered us a table. After 15 minutes, another staff member came over and finally gave us one.
To the restaurant manager: I have been working in the service sector for almost 11 years. What you need to do is fire this disgraceful hostess immediately. If you do that, I believe the rest of the services your restaurant provides would be acceptable. I am ready to provide calendar details to help investigate what was...
Read moreI have visited this restaurant several times with family and friends, and it always leaves a great impression. We always choose seafood for both appetizers and main courses, and every time we are delighted. Our favorites include the fish pâté, fish carpaccio, octopus salad, sea fish for the main course, and squid with potatoes and spinach. The freshness of the seafood and the attention to detail in the preparation truly stand out. As an appetizer, we usually order local olives and cheeses, which pair perfectly with the excellent selection of wines from small local wineries—unique options you won’t find in supermarkets. The staff is always friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. During the high tourist season, it’s essential to book a table in advance, as this place is rightfully popular.
P.S. The only suggestion would be to serve the pasta al dente, as it tends to be slightly overcooked.
Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates fresh seafood and a cozy,...
Read moreWe were walking around in the cold with our toddler, hungry and thirsty, when we found Scala Santa. As soon as I opened the door, I was sold: it was, unusually for most places we'd been to in Kotor in March, warm inside!
We were welcomed in by a gentleman who spoke great English. He gave us a helping hand with our pushchair, and then offered to heat up our daughter's bottle. Very kind of him. He also offered to help us choose our dishes, but my husband had been desperate for octopus since we'd arrived, and I for black risotto, so we had no problems to decide!
My husband is now satisfied and happy to leave Kotor, having finally had his octopus. Who knew, but putting grilled octopus together with pureed sweet potato on the side really does work! Compliments to the chef: he cooked the octopus perfectly! My risotto was also very good.
Finally, we had a cake of the day (a solid chocolate cake) and a Kotor cream cake, which was a bit like a smaller English custard slice, or a Hungarian...
