We visited Kotor for the first time. We were enchanted by this place. The atmosphere in the old town was incredible. We decided to stop at this restaurant for a drink because it was very hot. I told the waiter that we only wanted something to drink. We sat down at a table and waited for someone to serve us. There was another couple in the restaurant besides us. We were clearly ignored by the waiters. After a few minutes of waiting, my wife called one of the waiters that we would like to order something. Luckily, one found time for us. We received what we ordered. When it came to paying, we also had to look for a waiter. I told the waiter that I wanted to pay by card. Our wait was getting longer. There were 2 waiters to serve 4 tables. When the waiter graciously came back to take payment, I told him that I would pay cash. The bill was ridiculously low because it was only €5.80, but the waiter's behavior got me off balance. I gave him €5 in a note and when I started counting the remaining 0.8 eurocents he just walked away leaving the change on the table. The level of rudeness is masterful. Read moreI can honestly say this was not only the worst food I’ve had in Montenegro, but possibly the worst meal of my entire life.
We ordered four different dishes and not a single one was prepared properly. The risotto was completely dry, flavorless, and tasted like someone had sprinkled Vegeta on top as an afterthought. The steak was old, unpleasant both in taste and appearance, with the only redeeming touch being a few random greens tossed on the plate for decoration. The carbonara was basically pasta with scrambled eggs – nowhere close to what carbonara should be. To make things worse, the calzone arrived smothered in cream that wasn’t even mentioned on the menu.
The only dish that was somewhat edible was the Montenegro pizza – but that’s a very low bar compared to everything else we tried.
The only positives were the juices and the servers, who did their best to be friendly despite the terrible food. Unfortunately, service alone can’t save such a disappointing kitchen.
Would definitely...

The food was simply outstanding — every dish bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors. The pasta was cooked to perfection, the sauces were rich and delicious, and the ingredients clearly top quality. The homemade tiramisu was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal — light, creamy, and unforgettable.
It’s rare to find a place that gets everything right — service, ambiance, and exceptional food — but this trattoria nails it. We’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to all our friends. A hidden gem worth...
