A gem in the blue ocean of Chefchaouen. If you are ever in the main square, dodge the hawkers and dive into Bilmos for a late lunch or dinner. Our first choice was next door, but fortunately for us, they were closed for the evening. We were craving falafel and hummus, having been tajined out earlier in our Moroccan journeys. The hawkers assured me our first choice was closed and showed us their Vegan menu. Thereupon we found the dish we were hoping for, and accepted the invitation to take a seat with full view of the busy square. Our second dish was a spicy bowl of spinach, vegetables, beans, avocado, nuts, and prunes. The waiter asked us if we wanted spicy, and we said enthusiastically yes. Meals to this point were bland and lacking in flavor. Today’s meal was so delicious and flavorful, we plan to return for breakfast. We asked about a tomato soup, but declined. Nevertheless, the waiter brought a free bowl for tasting. From soup to nuts, this was by far the best meal in the last ten days in Morocco. If you are in the area, check Bilmos out - you will enjoy not only the food, but the ambiance...

Read moreWe came to Chefchaouen to explore the beautiful sights, and after our tour, we visited a restaurant called Bilmos.
We ordered: • Goat tajine – absolutely delicious! Served with zaalook and taktouka on the side. The meat was juicy, tender, and full of flavor. • Chicken tajine – it came with a lot of fries on top, but hidden underneath was a glorious chicken thigh and drumstick, perfectly tender, juicy, and seasoned beautifully. • Pepperoni pizza – simple and basic, but tasted fine. • French tacos – one minced beef and one chicken. The minced beef taco was fantastic – saucy, cheesy, and a good portion. The chicken taco, however, tasted a bit off for some reason, but it is what it is.
We ended the meal with Moroccan tea, which was the perfect way to wrap things up.
The place was clean, though a bit crowded (understandable for a touristic area). The staff were extremely nice and welcoming. The business is family-owned, and you can tell they care about every detail in...
