I recently spent one night at this hostel and would like to share both the positive and negative aspects of my stay. The hostel is mainly suitable for a short stopover or a one-night stay, but it definitely has room for improvement.
Among the advantages the central location*stands out. The hostel is located in the heart of the city, making it very convenient, especially for travelers who are only staying for a short time and want to explore the city.
Another plus is the friendly and helpful staff. Their accommodating attitude made the stay much more pleasant, despite the existing issues.
The hostel also has nice terraces which provide a pleasant outdoor space to relax after a long day or to chat with other guests.
The price-to-performance ratio is acceptable. Although there are some drawbacks that I will discuss later, the price is reasonable given the central location.
However, there are also some significant disadvantagesthat should be mentioned. The sanitary facilities*are in poor condition. The toilet and shower doors do not close properly, which greatly affects privacy. Additionally, soap is missing in many areas, which lowers the hygiene standards considerably. This issue needs to be addressed urgently to meet the basic needs of guests.
The overall cleanliness and maintenance also leave much to be desired. Not only are the sanitary facilities in bad shape, but the common areas and rooms also appear outdated and poorly maintained. These are clear signs that the hostel is in need of renovation.
Another point of criticism is the lack of basic equipment. For example, it is important that the locks on the toilet and shower doors work properly to ensure the necessary security and...
Read moreI booked my stay via Booking.com but the room I had booked was not available the first night, the second night I was shifted, but unfortunately was bitten badly by bed bugs, which brought about a severe allergic reaction that was to taint the rest of my visit to Morocco. When I alerted the management I was shifted to another room, and they were very conscientious to immediately eradicating the bed bug. The management although they paid for the treatment cream I needed for reducing the allergic reaction, needed some convincing before they did so (which was only 40MAD), and never offered to reimburse me for that night. They did offer to wash my clothing but one item got lost!!!!! On my departure day, after checking out from my room, I left my gear in the open courtyard, which was the suggested space from management. I came back to find one of my bags had been shifted, and later after leaving the hostel I discovered two notes, one for 50 Euro and the other for 50 British Pound had been stolen. Overall I found the staff friendly and helpful for the basic needs of the traveller, like orientation, maps, but for the unfortunate experiences I had, they were passive in compensating, repairing or acknowledging any...
Read moreI wish I could give more stars! From being welcomed by the staff to the first moment i stepped out onto the terrace.. It felt like home... I wish it was home haha. The room we had was beautiful, cozy with a window looking out onto to the street. We woke up the first morning and the friendly Mohammed made us a delicious breakfast, the best bread I had in morroco, pairs really well with the local made jam & cheese. My wife is celiac and since she couldnt have any of the bread i was munching down onhe sprinted off to get her a gluten free treat at no cost or worry. They also set us up with a tour of Akchour falls guided by the lovely Ali who also works the night. Highly recommend inquiring! Cannot forget Mustafa who always kept us laughing and never hesistated to offer some mint tea. I will truly miss this place and the memories they helped create! Will be back my...
