This place checks all the boxes: friendly staff and great home-cooking. It’s also the first (and probably only) place that told me I ordered too much food (!) which was indeed the case. I wish I took a picture of the chicken couscous before I mixed it all together but at $4 it was enough for two people especially considering the pizza-sized bread they give you. An added bonus is an eggplant dip they give you. It’s not zaalouk (the more common one) and might literally just be mashed eggplant with salt and olive oil but I could eat a gallon of it. Another thing I like about this place is that they speak 4-5 languages (normal for Morocco) but still have good enough English to have a detailed conversation on what makes their food good (where they source vegetables, recipes, preparation style, etc.). J'ai eu la chance de dîner au restaurant traditionnel La Fuente à Chefchaouen récemment et je dois dire que c'était une expérience absolument mémorable. Dès mon arrivée, j'ai été accueilli chaleureusement par le personnel courtois et attentif, ce qui a grandement contribué à l'ambiance conviviale et accueillante de l'endroit.

Le cadre du restaurant était tout simplement magnifique, avec une décoration traditionnelle marocaine qui nous plongeait immédiatement dans l'ambiance du pays. Les murs bleus caractéristiques de Chefchaouen ajoutaient une touche de charme indéniable.

Mais parlons maintenant de la vraie star de La Fuente - la nourriture. Les plats proposés étaient d'une authenticité exceptionnelle, offrant une variété de saveurs qui nous transportaient au Maroc à chaque bouchée. Les ingrédients frais et de haute qualité étaient savamment cuisinés, créant des plats colorés et parfumés qui ont satisfait tous mes sens. Je ne pouvais pas m'empêcher de savourer chaque plat à sa juste valeur.

Un autre point fort de La Fuente était le service attentionné. Les serveurs étaient compétents et passionnés par leur travail. Ils étaient toujours prêts à répondre à nos questions sur les plats et à nous conseiller sur les choix les plus adaptés à nos goûts. Leur connaissance approfondie des spécialités locales était un véritable atout.

En résumé, je recommande vivement le restaurant traditionnel La Fuente à Chefchaouen à tous les amoureux de la cuisine marocaine. Vous y trouverez non seulement une nourriture délicieuse, mais aussi une expérience culturelle authentique. Préparez-vous à un voyage gustatif à travers les saveurs riches et envoûtantes du Maroc dans un cadre magnifique. Bravo à toute l'équipe de La Fuente pour avoir créé cette expérience...

Don’t be put off by the entrance or decor to this gorgeous family run restaurant. The staff couldn’t be nicer and go above and beyond explaining the menu, service and overall kindness. The food is true authentic Moroccan cooking at its best. I had a shrimp terrine and my husband had the beef terrine and both dishes were beautiful.
