Great experience eating at sunshine restaurant as a solo female traveler. I was looking for a place to eat around the Medina where I am staying and previously saw good reviews for this place when I was researching high rated restaurants in the area so I decided to give it a shot.

I was early for dinner and arrived around 7pm but I was hungry after traveling to Fes and exploring all day so I gratefully welcomed the empty rooftop terrace. It was quiet and serene and the employees were very kind and helpful.

My waiter helped me select the harissa soup and a chicken pastilla and it was absolutely delicious as I’ve never had such a sweet yet savory Moroccan dish. I will say my eyes were bigger than my stomach, and after eating the soup alone I was getting full so the portions of the meals were not an issue.

Once I finished my meal I enjoyed the view and the breeze and the waiters gave me plenty of time to enjoy the atmosphere. I was even offered a coffee prior to me leaving. I was able to pay with my card so I took advantage of this offer and in total my meal with a large water bottle was 140 DH = $15.89 for reference.
