G-Bombay By Zahid — Restaurant in Marrakesh Prefecture

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at G Bombay about five months ago. I ordered food over the phone for takeaway, hoping for a smooth and easy experience. When I arrived at the restaurant, I walked to the counter to pay for my order. However, things took a turn for the worse.

The waiter with a ponytail informed me that he didn’t have any change, which should have been his problem to solve, not mine. Shockingly, he had the audacity to tell me to go outside the premises and find change myself, and then bring it back to him. I was stunned by this lack of professionalism and told him that it was his responsibility to handle such tasks, not mine.

Instead of addressing the issue, the waiter took it further by canceling my order on the spot, telling me that I wouldn’t be able to collect the food I had ordered. I was furious and immediately called the manager, hoping they would rectify the situation. Unfortunately, the manager was of no help at all.

To add insult to injury, I later received a call from the owner, who offered to invite me for a meal free of charge. But by that point, the damage had already been done. The gesture felt too little, too late.

While I’ll admit the food at this place is good, the experience was completely overshadowed by the appalling behavior of the staff and the lack of support from management. It’s clear that customer service is not a priority here.

Imagine walking into a swanky Foundation Room club to be greeted by Moroccan native, and served by friendly, service oriented, and knowledgeable staff. The decor is just fantastic adorned with Indian fusion design. And the food.the food! This is probably the best meal I had in all of Marrakesh. Flavorful, plenty of vegetarian options. I understand that there are three chefs in the back. I would call them the three Wise men. We asked for a paneer red sauce dish, which I am still dreaming about - three days later. Currently, they don’t serve alcohol, but honestly, that was a bonus because I could then stuff my face with delicious food. My husband and I stumbled across this amazing restaurant whilst on our visit to marakesh, and to be honest it wasn’t disappointing. From the moment you walk in the contemporary design & ambiance tells you this is going to be something special . The aroma of the presented dishes combined with the authentic spice combinations where nothing less then perfection on a plate . The tandoori chicken tikka, lamb karahi & garlic naan were so outstanding, that we had to make a return visit to sample even more dishes . From the service to the standard of cooking it’s a 10/10.
