Nestled within the enchanting tapestry of Marrakech is Casa Jose, a true Spanish gem. The ambiance is a subtle amalgamation of traditional Spanish charm interwoven with Moroccan vibrance, offering a dining experience steeped in warm hospitality and rich flavors.
Our culinary journey commenced with a Russian Salad crowned with succulent gambas, presenting a dance of textures and refreshing tang. The pimientos de padrón were a celebration of simplicity and earthiness, a dish with a rustic charm. A special mention must be bestowed upon the patatas bravas, which bestowed our palate with layers of fiery warmth and crispy delight.
Every bite was accentuated by fresh bread, an assortment of splendid dips, and exquisite olive oil, each elevating the flavors to heavenly realms. Adding a delightful surprise to our starters were the boquerones, bathed in olive oil and garlic, radiating freshness and zesty vibrancy.
As we ventured into the mains, the gambas pil pil welcomed us with its sizzling, aromatic allure. It was exactly how one yearns for it to be—hot, spiced to perfection, and utterly delectable, capturing the essence of Spanish cuisine impeccably.
To my utmost satisfaction, Casa Jose extends an array of bottled beers, each harmonizing splendidly with the flamboyant medley of flavors, and offering a nuanced layer to the overall dining experience.

Read moreCasa José is fantastic. I really had my doubts about a tapas place in Morroco. The pulpo salad was good. The octopus and shrimp were tender, not chewy. It was almost easily confused with mushy, but it definitely was NOT mushy. And that’s from a guy who unfortunately has had more than my fair share of overly cooked lobster at catered events. The Spanish tortilla was not traditional —- it was better than traditional. Which I never would say because I love Spanish tortilla in Spain with or frills and just simple clear flavors of egg, potato, olive oil, and alt. But here the flavors are spot on —- but the texture is superb. No, it’s not the traditional texture — the egg had a fluffy texture, almost like a French omelette our really light frittata. It was oh soooo very enjoyable. The fried calamari was in a light batter, evenly coated. And when I saw it came out, I thought “this looks like what you get at the worst poor excuses for calamari I’ve had in the US”. But instead the flavor was spot on, not overly oily, delicately crispy, and very tender. This was fresh calamari!! As an added bonus, they serve a selection of house pickled hot peppers in olive oil. It’s meant to go with the bread. But dip the calamari in it, and you have the flavor profile of Rhode Island style calamari. But it’staken to a whole new level. I was in heaven !! Overall I was more than happy to find this place. And I’ll be...
