I read great things about this cafe and opted to go here, bringing my sister along, over any other henna artist in the city. While my sister's henna ended up being good, mine was smudged while the artist was transferring me over to the drying area and then was half-way fixed after the fact. The older female artist noticed my distress over the messy areas and tried to fix them, but given that it has partially dried, the henna had already stained some. When I asked the owner whether the smudged areas would show he said yes, they would appear a bit messy. I then asked whether it could be fixed and he said that I could wash it off and try again. Not wanting to go through the 45 minute-long process over again, I asked if a slight discount could be taken given that the finished product was less than perfect, through no fault of my own.

He stated that no discount could ever be given and I could either wash it off and leave (the tint already having partially dyed my skin) or I could pay full price. He then, aleady defensive and angry, briefly spoke to the artist in Arabic, who told him that I had moved during the drying (several others there can attest that I did not). Contradicting his earlier statement, he went back and said that it would look just fine once I took it off, not messy at all. We left having paid full-price at a premium rate (given the reputation of the cafe), as I didn't want to further disturb other clients, for henna that was messy. The beauty of henna is that it's imperfect, but clean lines are desired in nearly any form of hand art. This is just shoddy work and poor...

loved it so much......the felafel rolls with henna were so pretty with their red flecks......they tasted just like gingernut snaps. the whole place was henna inspired.....everything was red. carrots and red capsicum were the most favourite things on the menu....and also red kangaroo. i found the following 3 pages tucked under the red tablecloth. "i came up with a theory that involves the book of genesis (fig leaves) buddha (sitting under the bodhi fig tree) jesus (many sayings about figs) ross hornes' book (new health revolution) and science (figs are the most important source of food for fruit eating rainforest animals). i then experimented on the figs by eating mainly dried figs (same brand) for over 10 years now and found cycles which i related to the numbers in psgs 11/12 of the book of revelations. this theory has gone everywhere. so far i have had eliminations at days 504, 840, 1176, 1512, 1848, 2184, 2520, 2856, 3192 and 3528. today is day 3663. i hqave definitely found something. i am not lying. what i have discovered has gone around the world and many songs have been written about it.....the foo fighters' last 4 albums ......coldplays' last 4 albums......"vertigo" by U2 (my first name is phil). an elimination is a day when you experience strong flu-like symptoms and feel terrible. bad stuff is washed out of your body." so as you can see......the henna cafe brings a whole lot more to the table than just their red food .....they are an inspiration to...

Went today as reviews of Henna art was good. As we arrived decided to eat the, Mint tea was lovely, food was tasty got the hummus with veg for starters (a bit small to share) myself and my partner got the Berber burrito and Chicken quesadilla both had a lovely Morocco twist and despite the small starter was a large portion and tasted lovely. All of the above and a an iced coffee and large bottle of water was 220.

The henna experience was fantastic and well done, assured it was organic and non toxic unlike the ones offered within the square. Henna for one hand (large design) was 200dirhams which we happily paid for due to experience and professionalism. Very large choice of designs and can bring your own design and very clear about after care which was good for first timers. The staff were polite and the women who ran it all made it a brilliant experience!!

The size of the location was small but this made it cosy and homely, one downfall was the size of the toilet.

100% would recommend to any tourists looking to get henna done well and with...

It was kinda weird experience. So I came to this café because I was curious. The plan was: get small snacks, and a henna tattoo. Looking at the review, I had mentally prepared myself to pay at least 100 MDR because I wanted a custom made design for the tattoo. When I talked to the ladies, they were confused by my request; furthermore, when I asked the artist "ça coûte combien?," she stayed in silence. I thought "yup, here flies my money." But hey, the leverage was on her (I was the one who yearned it anyway). So I just waited. And when she's done, I asked her once again and she said... IT'S FREE - C'EST GRATUIT. Yes indeed I didn't ask for a complicated design; it's really simple. But still, if I were her, I woul've probably charged at least 70 MDR. Definitely recommend this place!! The food is great with reasonable price. This is real, not a scam.

I can't speak for the food because I didn't have any but it's definitely worth coming here to get your henna done! The women are really professional, the location is central and the prices are good. Before I found out about this place, I got a really cheap henna done in the main square and it wore off after two days... plus there were loads of chemicals in it so it actually hurt my skin! I was super happy with the new design I got at the Henna Café, it was intricate, professionally made and long lasting - I still have it over a week later! When I initially got it, I had to keep it on for about 8 hours before pealing everything off, which turned out to be harder than I thought! I would recommend doing it in the morning or early afternoon and on a spot that's not covered up by clothes.
