MedinaSky rooftop — Restaurant in Marrakesh Prefecture

I visited Medina Sky after our tour guide recommended it to us. We went there on Saturday evening- it was very quiet, which I actually quite liked. The place itself looks really nice with nice views of the local area. My husband ordered beef tangia (tagine) and I went for veggie option. I have to say, I had high hopes for this place. When beef tagine arrived - it smelled amazing, full of spices and sweetness from dried fruit. He was very happy with his meal. When my veggie tangia arrive it was the most disappointing dish I’ve had in Morocco, or maybe ever… just a pile of veggies cooked in tomato sauce, no spices in sight. It was so bland . I gave it a go and tried it again but after two mouthfuls I just gave up as it was just not enjoyable.

The staff didn’t really pay any attention, no one came to ask if we were happy with food.

I feel bad for leaving bad review but I think maybe someone will look at it and try to improve the service and make vegetarian food better.

No photos as it was actually too dark to take any decent photos, which didn’t bother me as I’d rather enjoy the flavours than the photos.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this wonderful restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was second to none — we were made to feel incredibly welcome in a warm and homely atmosphere. The food was absolutely authentic, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. The vibe of the place was charming, with beautiful local art pieces adding character and a lovely touch of the area’s culture. A special shout-out to Imane, who served us — she was an absolute gem! So attentive, friendly, and made sure we had a lovely lunch. Truly a breath of fresh air. The owner was also an excellent host, making sure everything ran smoothly and that we felt looked after. This is one of, if not the best restaurant I’ve ever dined at! I ordered tangia and bastilla chicken and they were absolutely delicious, to the point where I was left in absolute astonishment when I had my first bite!! The service was as good as the food! The staff were all super friendly, and I even got to meet the owner and thanked him for creating such a masterpiece!! Lastly, the vibes there were on a different level!! The style they went for for the whole restaurant was so different from the other restaurants around town yet totally better. I believe this restaurant to be the best restaurant in Morocco.
