Had heard about Alice so much but I believe this is my worst experience in durbarmarg regarding food and place to dine in. I suggested the place for my friend’s birthday. We decided to sit outside to experience the durbarmarg vive. Do not do that in hot summer days, it was crazy hot. No feel of Ac, Fan were placed outside which was loud and noisy. staff were overloaded with Friday craziness once you finish one food they were rushing to get our dishes. We ordered French fries which was served with two sos, mayo n ketchup placed at one side plate , with both getting mixed up, and I believe they were cutting cost on sides since it was so little. Next chicken choila you feel like having boil chicken, no spices at all. Talking about chicken lollipop, I always had in mind spicyness n little sweet taste but again it was chicken drumsticks rather than chicken lollipop n again they were cutting cost on the sos that came along. Wanton soup, oh my god it was disaster chef literally had them on boiled water with some salt n oil. We did not find decent dish to try for afterwards, we went to different place to fill our appetite. We decided to skip our desert since we were sure it won’t be great. :( :( My friend had suggested trisara where her next bday party was and me along with my friends regret on not selecting trisara over Alice.. would not recommend Alice in durbarmarg. And one more Mozzarella stick overcooked certainly by the hustle of Friday evening....
Read moreThe first thing you need is a parking. I have been here several times and getting a parking is a trouble. And its damn expensive. If you are taking too many cars, avoid this restaurant and go somewhere you can find parking. The restaurant is okay during the day but the lighting is too dim at night. Well I understand that they want to give us a candle light experience but I would also like some bright areas in there. Or are they trying to save up on electricity? Talking about the food the Chinese on their menus are horrible. I ordered hot and sour soup it was nothing save for tofu, lots of ginger and beaten egg and some sort of readymade sauce it seemed. It was the worst hot and sour soup I had had. The Kimbam was okay came with a soup. We were seven people so we asked for another bowl and they gave us but charged us later. They should have pre warned us. I would have got another soup. The drinks well get only beer or neat drinks. They do not know how to make them. The mojito was too sweet. It was not even mojito. I do not know what it was. Also the salt content on their food was a bit high. Not to mention very little dessert options. The only reason they got a 3 star was because of their continental meal and cleanliness. ...
Read moreLets start with food. Its amazing. I really like the food here. They offer really good choices and some interesting ones like cabbage momo and crunchy corns, which are my obvious orders everytime. Even the plain basa fish with soy sauce is great. I have been to this place multiple times with friends for our lunch and food has always been a great experience.
Now coming to things this place could improve. Hygiene of the place can really improve. Yes the ambience is great but i am not fan of pigeons flying above your food. Also, messing up with orders also doesn't qualify for the Michelin stars :) . I was really upset when the servers gave our food to other bigger group and had to change our order.
Besides these, the place is worth for the money we pay. ( even though the price is above average...
