I recently visited Himalayan Java at Heritage Plaza in Kathmandu, and it was an experience I just had to share. Fresh brew was luke warm. It tasted like watered down brew, completely different from the ones I have had in its Thamel, Basantapur, Jhamsikhel and Bhaisepati branches (franchises). The coffee was not even hot. When concerns raised they explained to me how the coffee is brewed - we use water to brew - qhen i said it tasted like watered down coffee. Obviously "watered down" was not understood. They did offer to replace it with americano but i did not want to drink americano. If i had wanted, i would have ordered it in the first place. The spaghetti with meatballs had three pieces of dry meatballs in a plateful of spaghetti. I am seriously disappointed and would not recommend this. For my fresh brewed cuppa whenever i want it, i will drop in at Thamel - opposite himalayan bank. At least the staff there told me last time that they have stopped doing fresh brew during pandemic and not give me false hope and false taste of the coffee that I...

Disappointing Experience

I had an unexpectedly poor experience at Himalayan Java. Upon arrival, we were seated but left unattended for over 10 minutes without being offered a menu—we had to request it ourselves. After placing our order, water was not served until we asked again, which was quite surprising given the reputation of the establishment.

At the end, we requested the bill. Instead of providing a printed bill, the waiter verbally stated the total amount as "1365." When we asked if we could receive an actual bill, he confirmed but took an additional five minutes to bring it to us.
