Positives: Beautiful architecture, building, decor Helpful staff. Clean property Excellent location. Close to thamel tourist area but still peaceful
Negatives: Power sockets are not functional. Only two worked of which one was connected to room heater. And room heater could not be connected to any other sockets. It was extremely problematic to charge phones/power banks or use hair dryer or straightener The heater is in such a place that if moved, it disconnects. Thus it needed to be placed on floor and not above and thus it could not provide any heat and night was extremely cold The router for room wifi was connected to a power socket that did not work. So, we had to rely on reception wifi from our room. They have electric bed heater but no power sockets to connect the bed heaters for the heaters to actually work. What is the purpose of the bed heaters I wonder! Please note, it was 6 degrees in Kathmandu The floor is made of a material that keeps the floor extremely cold. But no slippers are provided in room for guests. There were brass utensils in room but no water in them. As it was late in night, we did not ask for water. But, we asked in the morning. But, we were still not given water. I had to go outside and buy water. What kind of hotels do not provide water? The water heater/ geyser in washroom is supposed to work. But it did not. Neither it worked at night nor in morning. The washroom is very dimly lit. It is small and it looks old. The washroom toilet has no bidet/hand shower
Overall, this does not offer the value for the price it charges. There are plenty properties in Kathmandu offering much better value at lower price. I have stayed at many eco friendly places throughout the world and I have not seen any place that does not offer drinking water in the name of eco friendliness or that does not have any functioning power sockets. They may not have power sockets. But, if they have it, that should function. Power sockets are not...

This property is in one of the best-rated locations in Kathmandu! Guests love it compared to other properties nearby. Couples in particular like the location – they rated it 9.2 for a two-person trip. Adding 3.5% Extra on cards payment I know banks in Nepal charge 3.5% Additional charges but this is not fair to ask from the guest as it is not a guest house so I ran to ATM & paid cash. Nice location beautiful design of the traditional authentic...
Read moreNestled in the heart of Thamel's hustle and bustle, Kantipur Temple House offers a unique blend of traditional charm and modern convenience. Stepping inside felt like entering a different world. The lush courtyard and traditional architecture provided a peaceful escape from the chaotic streets. The place provided a sanctuary for unwinding, particularly after extensive exploration. My room was very spacious for two people. They refrain from endorsing plastic and make efforts to preserve the environment. However, it would be advantageous if they were to provide a pair of sandals manufactured from fabric, particularly during the winter season. In addition, they can provide toothpaste. The heritage building boasted intricate woodwork, hand-painted details, and antique furniture. The staff was incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. However, sometimes, they enter our room without providing prior notice. They intend to create cool evenings by offering hot water bottles, bed warmers, and heaters. However, they must inform us about these amenities at check-in. The breakfast buffet is fine, although it might be more comprehensive.
