I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Friends Home, and my experience surpassed all expectations. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff's genuine hospitality made me feel not just like a guest but like a valued member of their extended "friends" family.
One of the standout features of this hotel is the immaculate cleanliness. The rooms were pristine, and housekeeping meticulous attention to detail. It was evident that maintaining a high standard of hygiene is a top priority for Hotel Friends Home. This commitment to cleanliness instilled a sense of comfort and relaxation throughout my stay.
The room itself was well-appointed with modern furnishings and thoughtful amenities. The cozy bed and plush linens provided a perfect haven after a day of exploring the city. The complimentary Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, catering to both business and leisure travelers. The in-room coffee maker was a delightful touch, allowing me to enjoy a cup of coffee in the comfort of my room.
Hotel Friends Home also excelled in its dining offerings. The on-site restaurant served a delectable array of dishes, blending local flavors with international cuisine. The breakfast was a highlight, featuring a diverse selection to suit every palate. The culinary team's commitment to quality and taste was evident in every bite, making dining a true delight.
What sets this hotel apart is the personalized service provided by the staff. From the front desk to the restaurant staff, everyone went above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. They were attentive to my needs, offering recommendations for local attractions and ensuring that I had everything I required for a comfortable stay. The genuine friendliness of the staff created a welcoming ambiance that added an extra layer of enjoyment to my time at Hotel Friends Home.
The hotel's central location was another notable aspect. Situated in the heart of the city, it provided easy access to key attractions, shopping areas, and public transportation. This convenience allowed me to make the most of my time exploring the city without worrying about lengthy commutes.
In conclusion, Hotel Friends Home is a true gem in the hospitality industry. It seamlessly combines modern comfort, exceptional service, and a commitment to cleanliness. Read more“Friends Home” is the perfect name for this hotel because, during the 3 weeks that I spent there in March, the staff felt like friends and the hotel felt like a home away from home. Even before I had arrived in Kathmandu and checked in for my stay, the hotel manager Rajkumar was already helping assure that my stay there would be a great one by helping answer questions I had about the property over WhatsApp and arranging for a car to pick me up from the airport. Once I had checked in, the entire staff was extremely warm, helpful, and friendly. From learning my favorite dish for breakfast each morning, to giving excellent suggestions on what to see and do in Kathmandu, the staff at Hotel Friends Home made my stay a great one. I can honestly say that I wouldn’t have seen nearly as much of the city were it not for the helpful suggestions on the places I should visit after I told them the sorts of things I was interested in.
Beyond the friendliness of the staff, the location of the hotel was absolutely perfect as well. Located within walking distance of popular locations such as the Garden of Dreams and Durbar Square, Hotel Friends Home provided an excellent launching pad from which to explore the rest of Kathmandu. The best part about the location was that, even though it was centrally located, it was set aside just enough from the hustle and bustle of the Thamel district to give it the feel of a peaceful oasis away from the crowds. My room was incredible as well and served as a quiet place for resting after a long day exploring the city or just staying in and getting some work done at the hotel. The food was also top-notch, and it was so nice having the ability to grab a delicious, perfectly cooked meal any time of day without having to go out and try to figure out a place on my own (though they also provided excellent suggestions on restaurants to try when I did want to go exploring!).
My time at Hotel Friends Home was, without a doubt, the most enjoyable hotel stay I’ve had in as long as I can remember. I was genuinely a bit sad leaving after having such a wonderful time during my stay, and I eagerly anticipate my next visit to Nepal so that I can stay there again. If you are looking for a hotel with a great location, clean and comfortable rooms, good food, and an incredible staff, look no further than Hotel...
Read moreWow! What a great place to stay. It was so great that we stayed there 3 times during our trip to Nepal, and it was definitely something we looked forward to when coming back from a trek. The room was very nice, with a great shower and comfortable bed. Very clean as well.
But it was Raj and his staff that really made the place so great. They were so kind and welcoming. Always offering to help with anything or to give you some tea or juice when you returned to the hotel and of course a happy hello. They'd of course always help to carry luggage up the stairs or to deliver tea to the room. We were lucky to to be staying at the hotel during the Tihar festival, so it was great to see how the staff decorated the hotel for it.
Something that especially stood out was that when we returned from a trek on Thanksgiving day, we opened our room and found a cake with "Happy Thanksgiving" written on it. How thoughtful and touching! And Raj found a place celebrating Thanksgiving with our traditional menu for us to go to (at the New Orleans Cafe, in case anyone is around for Thanksgiving next year).
The wifi worked well for us, the hotel is tastefully decorated, and there is a nice sitting room with the local newspaper downstairs as well as a great place to sit with views of the city on the roof (both shaded and unshaded). The location is nice as it's in a quiet alley away from all the noise and honking, yet really close to all that Thamel has to offer.
We'd definitely come back to this home away from home in a heartbeat. Thanks Raj and team!
