We made a point of trying Lavie Garden while stying in Boudha because of the reviews and the potential for live music. We weren't disappointed.

It is about 15 minutes walk from the Stupa and easy to find - straight up Phulbari Road from the circle.

It was busier than we expected when we arrived but a table was found for us. That most of the tables were in the garden was to be expected (we could not see too much of the garden because it was dark). The ambience was excellent; lively, chatty and mostly young Nepali customers - it seemd a 'destination' venue for celebrations. There was live music - a singer with a guitar - which he could certainly play - with a very nice voice. I sensed he got a little bored singing happy birthday so many times!

The food was excellent. Our main meals were veg biryani and paneer biutter masala. both were well-cooked, nicely balanced spices nad hearty portions, particularly the biryani. I was hungry so ordered the medium one but Bikash, the server, kindly and politely explained the medium is intended for sharing and suggested I order the small one. He was right; I was not able to eat all of the small dish.

The biryani was served with a little bit of drama; the pot was covered with a pastry crust. This was removed quite theaticrally and turned on to the plate with panache. The servers checked on us regularly but not intrusively and were readily available when we wanted extra drinks including nicely flavoured and well-chilled lassis.

The interior design struck the perfect balance between modern elegance and cozy comfort—soft lighting, tasteful decor, and a welcoming atmosphere made me feel instantly at ease.

The service was impeccable. The staff especially( Anita) was really attentive without being intrusive helped us alot.Each component of the dish complemented the other, and it left a lasting impression.
