I usually give places the benefit of the doubt, but this time I feel absolutely compelled to speak up. My recent visit to this restaurant was nothing short of frustrating — a masterclass in how to ruin basic dishes.
🍔 The Burger: A Dry Disaster
Let’s start with the burger. I’ve had homemade buns from a gas oven that were better than this. The bun was dry as hell — like biting into a piece of stale cardboard. It had the texture of something left out for days, and frankly, it tasted just as cheap. No softness, no moisture, no care. It crumbled like sandpaper in my mouth. Whoever approved that bun for serving clearly doesn’t care about food quality. It was so dry I genuinely needed water after every bite. If you’re going to serve burgers, at least invest in a bun that doesn’t feel like a punishment.
🍹 Virgin Mojito: Where Was the Flavour?
Now, the Virgin Mojito — or should I say, soda with a confused identity. It was nothing more than carbonated water with a splash of artificial lime and a mint leaf tossed in for decoration. No proper muddling, no balance of sweet and sour — just a bland, lazy attempt at a mocktail. I’ve had better mojitos from roadside stalls for half the price. It was a clear example of style over substance: looked okay, tasted like regret.
🥟 Jhol Momo: Jhol or Just Joke?
Finally, the Jhol Momo. Where do I even begin? The momo itself was underwhelming — the filling was bland and mushy, and the wrapper lacked any finesse. But the real tragedy was the “jhol” — a watery, lukewarm mess that tasted like diluted achar mixed with confusion. It neither complemented the momo nor stood out on its own. Just spicy water with zero depth or richness. A dish that’s supposed to be soulful and warming ended up being a...
Read moreIt's always joyful to stumble across a place on a random walk, and then add that place to your list of favorites! My boyfriend and I ended up here for breakfast (fruit, curds and museli and the revolutionary breakfast - huge quantities. Go here with a big appetite!), evening tea (yarsagumba tea, which I had for the first time ;the friendly waiter explaining to me the origin of the tea - extremely unique. Drink it and then Google it up!) and dinner (spinach soup and tandoori chicken. Both very nice). What drew us repeatedly here was the happy, hippie ambience and the wonderful outdoor seating.the vibe itself was so happy and delightful! And on Wednesday nights, a lovely local band called "The Triplets" plays from 7 pm to 10 pm - a fusion of the flute, tabla and flamenco guitar. We were struck with their energy and synergy; an unlikely combination of music, which sounds captivating! They played a few originals and a few covers, which would excite you on hearing them covered thus. Our evening in the Revolutionary cafe turned out revolutionary indeed due to the power fo the music and place! I felt I was transported to an isolated restaurant on a beach when I was listening to them and sipping on my soup. Loved this...
Read moreThis place should be renamed The Robbery Cafe, because that’s exactly what it felt like — getting robbed in broad daylight with a smile.
I ordered just two chicken burgers, a virgin mojito, and a cappuccino. That’s it. Nothing fancy, nothing exotic. Just basic café items. Wanna guess the total bill?
Rs. 2500. For what? For the blandest, driest burgers I’ve ever bitten into and drinks that tasted like they were whipped up by someone who lost their taste buds in a war.
The virgin mojito was basically a glass of soda with some crushed ice and a dead mint leaf floating in misery. The cappuccino? More like burnt bitterness in a cup. And the burgers? Bro, I wouldn’t even feed those to a stray dog. Dry buns, flavorless patty, no sauce, no soul — nothing.
The staff were nice and the food came quick, I’ll give them that. But if the best thing about a restaurant is the speed at which they serve garbage, something’s seriously wrong.
Bottom line: This place is criminally overpriced, offensively tasteless, and painfully overrated. If you care about your money, your mood, and your mouth — do yourself a favor and stay away. Honestly reevaluated your...
