Brittons Bakery and Cakery — Restaurant in Amsterdam

I've been salivating over Britton's Bakery's pastries for months via numerous instagram pages, but yesterday I FINALLY had a chance to go over there and try their goodies out myself and boy oh boy... it did NOT disapoint! I had a chocolate hot cross bun and it was sooo chocolatey, soft and fluffy: amazing! We also tried the iced lavender matcha and the iced americano with chai cold foam and oohhh.. SO sooo good!! Am already planning my next visit!

The only thing that I do find a bit off-putting/troubling is the way they are presenting their pastries. The pastries are out in the open without a sort of border/glass protection between customer and pastry. The bakers and people working there all work really hygienic and even wore gloves to cut my hot cross bun in two, which I really appreciated! But a few customers in line before me, stood so close to the pastries, almost touching the pastries, towering over them and talking and smelling them.. all happening without the personnel seeing it. Just seeing the customers before me in such close proximity to the pastries, pastries that might end up on my plate.. almost made me leave the store. It would be much more hygienic, just because there are crazy people out there who do touch food without it being theirs, if they would put up a glass border or something on...

Britton's Bakery is a charming little gem tucked away in the heart of the city. I recently visited this bakery and ordered their Strawberry Matcha Latte and a Strawberry Matcha traybake.

The Strawberry Matcha Latte was beautifully presented with a delicate foam art on top. The matcha flavor was perfectly balanced with the subtle sweetness of the strawberry, creating a refreshing and unique taste.

As for the Strawberry Matcha traybake, it was a delightful treat that perfectly complemented my latte. The cake was moist and fluffy, with a generous amount of strawberries mixed throughout. The matcha flavor was subtle but added a nice depth to the overall taste.

The ambiance was cozy and inviting and the staff was friendly and attentive. I will definitely be returning to Britton's Bakery for more delicious treats...

I ordered a last minute birthday cake and their service was so professional! The cake was ready on time, and it was absolutely delicious and looked exactly the way it did on the photos on their website. Their chocolate fudge cake is absolutely to die-for. All my guests raved about it. It was moist, well packed, well sized for a good 12 people or so and the icing was perfect. It was decadent in the best way and an absolute treat! I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a treat either for themselves (they do sell smaller treats and we had a brownie the day before that was incredible) or if you need a cake for a party.

The staff are also very sweet, kind and professional. And they are very responsive on their Instagram page to DMs.

I would rate them 6 out of 5 to be honest! 5 stars...
