I have been to this place a few times for a casual drink as I live around the corner. After today’s experience will not come back. I suggested this place to my friends and we went for a drink in the terrace in December. When we arrived 2 out of 3 friends ordered and one of them decided he did not want to order anything at the moment. The waiter very quickly replied “oh you are enjoying the warmth of the heater right? Then you are going to order something!” Acting like it was rush hour and we were occupying a table and not consuming. Important to highlight that the terrace was half empty, so for sure we were not keeping them from making money. This is the type of bullying attitude I will not tolerate, and having worked in hospitality, the waiter has a huge lack of customer service and respect. I’m not the type of person to make a scene, so I have ordered 2 Tonics for myself to “cover” my friend, we had our drink and left. so Really hope those couple of euros helped reach your target and pay the electricity bill for the heaters of your...
Read moreI recently visited Cafe Heuvel on a Saturday night with a group of friends, and we had an amazing time. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere that made us feel right at home.
The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming, and it felt like everyone in the cafe knew each other. We enjoyed drinks, laughter, and great conversations together, and the vibe was just amazing. No one seemed to mind the noise level, and it added to the lively and fun atmosphere.
The cafe also has seating both inside and outside, and both options offer fantastic views. We opted to sit outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather and the charming view of the canal.
Overall, I would highly recommend Cafe Heuvel to anyone looking for a fun and welcoming cafe experience in Amsterdam.
It's the perfect spot to relax with friends, meet new people, and enjoy great drinks and conversation. I can't wait to...
Read moreWould give 0/5 star if we could. We went in to share a drink as it was pouring outside and the cafe was quite empty. We were asked what else we wanted because we just ordered 1 drink out of 2 people, to share , and the TALL BALD (so bald) waiter said we couldn’t do that - “consumption is necessary per person”. We left as this is not the service anyone should receive.
Being two young girls in Amsterdam we found this experience unsettling unprofessional and down right inappropriate as this is not the case for the service we received elsewhere. I have severe allergies and cannot tolerate a lot of the things served in places and this experience was truly shocking.
P.S if you need hair transplant options I’m happy to recommend someone - being rude isn’t a good...
