Superb hotel, lovely and clean, friendly and professional staff. We stayed for 3 nights with breakfast included. We arrived early and our room was ready. Unfortunately for me, our room was on the top floor, room 509. As one who has a phobia of lifts, it was a workout walking up the many narrow staircases. Husband took the lift!! Room was clean and modern with a lovely view of the roof tops and the most plush shopping street in Amsterdam. Although the room was VERY, VERY SMALL, it was cosy with plump pillows and a comfy-ish double bed with everything we needed; a safe free of charge, kettle, tea and coffee, USB ports and plenty of sockets. The bathroom was small but clean, modern and equipped with shower gel and small toiletries, sewing kit and vanity kit. The shower had plenty of hot water with two shower heads to chose from and excellent water pressure, however the shower cubicle did leak flooding the entire bathroom.! We also had torrential rain during one evening which resulted in pools of water dripping off the windowsills. Room was cleaned and made up daily and towels were replaced each day too. If you do not wish to be disturbed, ensure you use the door sign available snd beware, walls are rather thin!!||Breakfast was self serve and was amazing. Cold meats, cheeses, variety of breads, cereals, pancakes, pastries, cakes, fruit, yoghurts, juices, as well as scrambled/boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, teas and coffees.||The lounge area is stunning with comfy sofas, beautiful flower arguments, modern lighting and large table with refreshments available to purchase. There is a small outdoor terrace off the lounge.||Location of the hotel is perfect. In the Museum Quarter with bus stop 397 located near the hotel taking you to and from the airport. As well as near various museums, it's also close to pubs, restaurants, shops, Blue Boat cruise, tram stops and the park.||Checkout is at 11am. We left our luggage in the hotel luggage store room so we could continue exploring the brilliantly, bright and bonkers life of Amsterdam before returning to the airport. Would most definitely recommend...
Read moreMe and my partner were overall very impressed with the service that Hotel Cornelisz provided. The hotel in our opinion was in the perfect area for tourism as it was located just a few minutes walk from the Iamsterdam sign, ten minutes from the Heineken experience and a few minutes walk away from the main strip of shops leading up to Dam Square. The area itself is stunning and is among many designer shops such as G-Star clothing, Rolex, Tommy Hilfiger, Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors and many more. Due to the are the hotel is situated, it makes getting around the city extremely easy as it is well connected and a minute’s wall away from the nearest tram and bus stop, however the hotel also rent out bikes for around €16 per day if you wish to ride around. The staff were very friendly, extremely helpful and spoke perfect English and range of other languages which I found very ideal for all types of guests. Breakfast was continental, yet rather tasty and offered a range of different foods to suit everyone. The room was ample size for me and my partner and they include towels and hairdryers as standard (I couldn’t find this info on the website so I have stated it here for anybody who should seek it), a desk and a TV. Beds were very comfortable and easy to get a good nights sleep.
The only issues really were that the rooms got quite hot (probably warm in the winter) as they had no air-conditioning. They did however include a large fan which did help a lot especially after a cool shower. This leads me onto the only other complaint which is that the bathroom/shower room was rather small and being a big lad (6”4) I struggled to have a good shower.
Thankyou for the stay and the kind service you provided Hotel Cornelisz. I will 100% come back once I can afford to revisit...
Read moreI stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and it was lovely. I received a warm and friendly welcome. My room was what I had expected and hoped for, as a solo traveller and to be honest quite short and petite this small single bed room was perfect for me, where others might find it cramped I actually found really cosy and loved the mural on the wall. However the room was very hot but I guess the staff are aware of this as there was a fan already provided, there were tea/coffee making facilities but no milk, an iron board but no iron. a fridge that wasn't very cool, a safe and in the bathroom, the shower was powerful and warm and the toiletries provided were fab, there was even a small sewing kit and a nail file. There is a terrace on the first floor to sit out and enjoy a drink, my room looked out onto this, and a lounge area that was cosy. The breakfast was ok, you had the usual cereals and pastries and eggs and bacon which were a bit salty for me but the stroopwaffles were delicious and lots of cold drinks available as well as tea/coffee etc. The hotel is right next to the rijkmuseum and not far from Vondelpark, Moco museum and the Van Gogh museum. It is also in walking distance to the tram stop to central station and the airport shuttle bus 397 passes by all the time. There are a few little improvements that could be made at hotel cornelisz but nothing major and I would stay here...
