By far the worst experience I've had in a coffee shop and I've been to many on many trips to Amsterdam. As soon as we got in (a group of 6) we had a look where we would be most comfortably sat, as I hung back the waitress rolled her eyes, 'said oh my God' out loud when we asked if we went to the bar or table service, after being told we had to wait for table service (which is fine, no issues there) already being obviously rude we stayed anyway. After 10 minutes of waiting, the couple that sat down next to us was served immediately. When I politely said 'sorry we haven't ordered yet can we order' the response I got back was disgusting. 'You're in a coffee shop you know not a 5 star hotel'.....huh? Where did that come from? I just wanted a drinks order taken, not only is that rude in itself, we were still waiting to spend money after the waitress was already so rude. Clearly had ab attitude with us as a group from when we sat down, have no idea what her problem was or what we did so much she didn't like, we just wanted a drink a smoke, didn't get a chance to find out and decided to leave, definitely won't return, so rude and offensive, worst service ever, if I worked In a coffee shop I think I'd be pretty happy, i would at least manage a smile at travelling customers, will definitely stick to rhe coffee shops I know and love. That woman shouldn't work in customer service, her miserable face is definitely not something I want to look at again, I mean, who the hell physically argues with the customers??? That is the lowest form of customer service, you're not in the...
Read moreOne of the coolest, most chilled out coffeeshops we visited. . We were in Amsterdam for 3 days and spent most of our time here, I couldn't keep away. The quality of their stock was out of this world, best in town. The girls looking after the tables do a great job and the service is unmatched. It was the 5th coffeeshop we visited on our first day, but the 1st place to greet us with a smile and a friendly welcome. The guys behind the desk were very informative and very friendly. We went to a lot of coffesshops over the 3 days and we kept returning to Dampkring 3/4 times a day (NOT the Original Dampkring, which we visited twice and left after 10 minutes, bad service. Ordered drinks never came and bad attitude). . Prices are also so cheap in Dampkring for the amazing quality stock they have compared to other places we visited.. Loved every minute of it. It will be the first place we go next time we're in Amsterdam. Orange juice is very refreshing. . Thank you Dampkring, you made my holiday special!
Ask for the Super Silver Haze and/or Super Lemon Haze. . It was the smoothest, cleanest, most beautiful stock we found over our 3 days and kept us coming...
Read moreThis used to be top 3 for coffee shops in this city. Now? They wouldn’t mark in the top 10. Having unpredictable and irregular hours combined with extremely rude staff makes the quality of product irrelevant. I’m guessing they’re going to try to shove all of the sit in business to their new bar and pay less for a takeaway only license. And I may have been willing to go that route, but the budtender was just unhelpful and rude. Also, if you’re going to give a customer specific hours or days and they come back for that time it doesn’t help if you aren’t doing what you said you would. Like takeaway. We asked specifically when we’d be able to sit upstairs after 9 pm. We were told Thursday. That didn’t work. Friday, they closed upstairs and sit in by 10. Saturday night, they closed ALL sit in service at 7:30.
Honestly? Popeyes is way better service. Barney’s and Barney’s Uptown are friendlier. And greenhouse cookies is usually busy but has GREAT snacks and drinks. If you walk in here and get an unfriendly vibe, just remember you...
