We came for the street food and enjoyed sitting outside in the sun. The atmosphere was lively, the terrace was nice, and it was very accessible.
Since my friend was heading to a party later and I wasn't very hungry, we didn't want to eat too much. We ordered the Muku platter for two and decided to share a smash burger. In the end, we couldn't finish everything on the platter. I found the burger to be absolutely delicious, and among the different food , the chicken was amazing although it was a bit a dissapintment that it was fried. The perekandel jagun was a bit on the salty side, the croquette was tasty but not really my thing, and the fries were crispy but also a bit salty.
Tip: If you want to bring the finesse of fine dining into the street food, consider making the portions smaller. It immediately looks more elegant if, instead of two (some big) pieces of everything,. The presentation would also be more visually appealing. But hey, who am I. Just a foodie who looks at the details.
The staff was friendly, especially the nice lady who served us (she honestly mentioned it was her 4th day on the job). We ordered coffee at the end, but it took a very long time to arrive. If you're in a hurry, that might be an issue. The bill was paid and since we really had to go, my friend took a glass of water instead. Oh and the guy with the earrings who was also serving? It seemed like he had a short memory. We wanted to place an order, and he said he'd come to us. If we hadn't signaled him, we could have ended up waiting much longer. Nice guy but slow and a bit lost.
All in all, we had a great evening and really enjoyed the terrace. But as for my preference, I would rather go for the...
Read moreSometimes you read reviews and you think 'well, it can’t be that bad…'. But no: there’s really something wrong at Daalder Streetfood. The division of 'tables' among staff was adjusted three times during our 2 hour visit, as if it is so difficult to control a half-full terrace. The service is poor. Waitress completely ignored dietary restrictions, even when they are presumably and repeatedly indicated. Result: food waste and the right dish far, far after the group had consumed their food. They also completely forgot about a side dish. This was ordered from what seem to be the floor manager, who was too shy (?) to apologise himself. Interestingly that also applies to the first incident, very odd. I’m sure that next door (the Michelin rest.) they can explain how to handle such unfortunate mistakes accordingly. I am also very surprised to see so much feedback here without any response from Daalder Steetfood itself. You would expect the team to be grateful for valuable guest feedback and them to be eager to work on improvement. Get yourself together, Daalder...
Read moreThis place has a great atmosphere and view of the water. It’s lovely to catch up with friends, but that is about it.
The service was bad, food came without utensils, we had to ask for them plenty of times. Food came late, we had to ask for the sangria as i think they forgot to bring it. Had to ask for the bill 2 times, also everything was very slow.
The food was bad overall too. The lamb fries had quite a nice flavour but they were soggy and floating in a pool of greasy liquid at the bottom of the plate, unsure what that even was. The bao bun was tiny, but the stroopwaffle dessert was extremely tiny and 5€ and not what we expected at all. The blueberry pancakes tasted like pancakes made from boxed batter, and the portion came with 2 small pieces for around 10€. We took everything to share but were still hungry after. This would have been ok as i know that the menu is street food inspired, however the prices seem too high for...
