We were curious about this place since it had a long line when we passed by. So we decided to try some pan fried dumplings and it turned out that’s a huge mistake. The worst dumplings I have ever had my entire life!
Flavor: where to start… the doughs of both the meat and vegetarian dumplings were underdone. The white dough was still visible on the folds. The fillings were salty and extremely dry. And vegetarian dumplings tasted salty raw cabbage and carrots. Bottom was drizzled with ton of chili oil (not sure what it was actually, not even much chili flavor).
Waiting time was 40 mins although 5 people were working in the kitchen.
Price: 6 small pieces dumplings, smaller than ordinary gyoza for 7 euro. That’s high!
It was so bad that we couldn’t continue the second bite. I’m still stunned by the popularity of this place! Maybe other products they have are way better, the dumplings r...
Read moreWe came here because we had loved this place before. Unfortunately the quality was no longer as good as before. We ordered the vegetarian noodles, pork dumplings, two types of chines pancakes. We had preferred vegi dumplings though those were sold out. Half of the dumplings were close to cold.
We had to wait for 30min to be able to order, then they mentioned that the noodle would take 20-25min. Since my daughter does not eat the dumplings we would have to wait. 20-25min would be worth it. However it finally took them 50min to have them ready. (I came back to ask after 45min). I would expect that being so hungry I would love the food, but it was a disappointment not relative to the long wait.
I would go again, but only if there is no line to order (there is almost always a line). Otherwise I would advise to go to other excellent places in Amsterdam to eat...
Read moreOrdered from here a number of times. The dumplings are fine. They are big and quite filling, but the wrapper is quite thick and doughy, so you must enjoy that.
The fried rice is average. Portion is fine, but it was a bit bland, and it was mostly rice and little veggies/meat. I wouldn't come back for the fried rice.
The crepe is huge. I like the flavors, but it's quite greasy. For the first half of the crepe this isn't an issue for me, but I'm never able to finish the crepe because I get a bit nauseous of the amount of oil and grease at some point.
The price is unbeatable for the portions you get, and the staff is friendly. I could recommend ordering from there when you're already close by, but I wouldn't travel across the city for them. Other places in the city center offer much better...
