I have been looking for a good vegan ramen in Amsterdam for a long time and unfortunately I have to look further, because this is where I found what I have found so far - inexpressive taste, medium-quality additives, carelessly made and unpleasant service. The worst experience was with the crunchy gyoses, which, first of all, were not the ones I ordered, and in addition they were not even crispy for a moment - they turned out to be stuck together, probably defrosted dumplings, only slightly fried in a pan on both sides, crumbling and sticky. When the waitress finally asked if it tasted good, I honestly replied that the broth was bad, and the gyoza were probably frozen because they were not crispy - I got the answer that they were steamed (?!), So I asked why they were fried from two pages and stuck together in one lump. I heard that I ordered it cooked, not crispy, and if I don't like it, I can get it for free. I don't like this place and will not go back there again - poor quality, poor flavors and unpleasant service, who when the room is full, goes outside for a cigarette and does not even wash their hands after returning (I was a chef for 6 years in my vegan pub and such details are important to me). Can I find a place in Amsterdam with good quality vegan ramen and...
Read moreVisited Hinuta Ramen &Bar by chance on Saturday,16 Nov @5:20pm as I was strolling down the streets in Amsterdam city and it was getting dark. Excited with the aroma of oriental flavour once i stepped into the restaurant, I decided to have a hot piping ramen meal and some gyoza. Food came and taste is acceptable (not super great) and no choice of choosing the hardness of the ramen (which I am used too) . Gyoza was served at the same time with the ramen - gyoza is supposed to be starter and why it came together with ramen? And there were no vinegar and julienned ginger for dipping!
Ordered a hot sencha /green tea and asked if it can be refilled and I thought I heard its refillable. Refilling green tea is a norm when I eat in my home country, however when I asked for a refill, I had to order another one. It seems like the 200ml of refill of sencha will cost an arm and leg for the restaurant as the hostess refused to refill.
Your ramen soup has way too much of MSG that I got so thirsty from drinking the yummy soup.
Oh by the way my first sencha tea was served in a hairline cracked cup that leaked tea. Please replace them .
Suggestion for Hinata - the tea did not come with individual teabags. Charge customer based on teabag and offer a common hot water...
Read moreThe place looks hip, also attracts more a hip crowd. One thing that really annoyed me from the start, I thought it was really loud in there. Having conversations without constant misunderstandigs at some point was nearly impossible (even with the waitress). The ramen was good but I like mine a bit more authentic. The flavour of the soup was good but it could have been more spicy (I took the spicy ramen) and the toppings spinach and baby corn didn't fit so much I figured afterwards. The broth was quite creamy, depends whether you like it. I missed some extra spices on the table. We also had Edamame and Gyoza and Takoyaki as starters. Gyoza were good but too expensive for what you got. I missed some soya sauce dip with it. The Edamame tasted more like potato, too creamy. Maybe cooked for too long? I really liked the Takoyaki, first time I tried them. The sauce on top was tasty! The service was quite slow, they didn't really check on us, but then again that's the usual in most places in Amsterdam. They were friendly but unfortunately they messed up our order a few times and we had to pay for toppings we didn't have. In the end, they gave us the money back but it left the dining experience with a bit of an...
