Jerk Bay — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Drove from Antwerp to Amsterdam to try this restaurant. Having living in London with the best jerk chicken takeaway at my doorstep, I had high expectations. Jerkbay did not disappoint. The smell of BBQ meat was absolutely amazing and it proves the food is being made on the moment. Jerk chicken is something that takes a long time to marinate, prepare on the BBQ etc. I have left London 8 years ago but the taste of the jerk chicken was exactly the same as I have remembered. The smoky meat taste is just out of this world. The rice & peas were also absolutely delicious, so was the fried plantain. It couldn’t have been a better meal, so good that we ordered two more portions to take away and eat the next day back in Antwerp. Thank you for making such delicious food and with the traditional ingredients and methods. I will definitely drive back to Amsterdam to eat at your restaurant again. Food :T'was delicious. This restaurant serves real Jamaican dishes please note the chefs are jamaicans, so you are getting authentic jamaican food rich with special seasonings.

Service: The employees were courteous and attentive.Our dinner was a LITTLE late so the chefs came and personally gave treats to compensate for the lateness. What made the service also good is that the owner came and asked if we enjoyed our meals and conversed a lil with the customers. Last Saturday night was very busy so MAYBE its best to email in your order so that your food could be prepared in time. The food are prepared fresh plus Jamaican food doesn't take 10 minutes to be prepared.

OoooooohmmyGod! The BEST Jamaican food I’ve ever had, and I’ve lived in central Florida for a very long time, and had great Jamaican food there.

You should make reservations as the place is packed (doesn’t feel packed though.) We got extremely lucky to find a free table that the staff accommodated us with. They were so, so, so nice! We ordered jerk chicken, curry goat w/ rice&peas (which came with sweet plantains) and got Mac & cheese (which is made fresh to order (wait time for that is about 30 minutes.)
