De Biertuin Mercatorplein — Restaurant in Amsterdam

My girlfriend and I popped in here nursing a heavy hangover not expecting to be able to stomach anything, but with friendly service, a wide selection of beer and a cracking menu, we were soon able to sort that out. I wanted the wings which were in fortunately unavailable, so in the end we had what we both agreed was the best burger we’d ever had in our lives (even with the burger sauce that I wasn’t so keen on). We enjoyed it so much that a few days later we had an hour or so to kill before our flight so we headed back so my Mrs could have the burger again, and I finally got to try my wings. I went in with low expectations food wise. The place looks like a typical Dutch new age bar . Packed with young and well dress sweaters shirt kinda crowd. The beer is they brew in my opinion are ok. Nothing to rave about. After having one of their home grown ones, I moved to a more classic Belgian one. Satisfied. But that got me was their wings. OMG, probably best wings in Amsterdam. Wings are like gouda of cheese world. Good but and afterthought. But these wings are culinary delights. They are cooked perfectly. Crisply and yet soft to bite. They are HUGe as they give you the whole wing… good job there…. And then the sauce beautifully done....

Very friendly staff. Nice space with large tables. Wide selection of beers. I tried the Beef Bun burger. I comes with 2 thin patties, lettuce, a thick slice of pork belly and a black beans sauce. To be honest, I didn't love the combination of the black beans sauce with the beef. However, I loved the combination of pork belly and beans sauce. That is available as a main course, too.
