LOT61 Amsterdam Centraal Station — Restaurant in Amsterdam

I’ve been to this cafe many times but I’ve had some troubles. Firstly, the drinks are good. I 100% recommend the drinks. If all the components are in stock. Multiple times now I have bought a drink and it ended up having a vital component missing because it was out of stock. If staff had told me beforehand I’d have ordered something else, but like this it really hampers my experience.

The staff is fine, but I’d keep the gossiping about customers to when they cannot hear you :/

Additionally in the summer months I have seen again and again that there are dozens of flies in the baked goods display. That’s unappetising to say the least.

I’m very disappointed because previously I would have given this restaurant a 5/5, prices are good, the drinks taste good but man.. it’s rough...

Aeropress is on the menu for 8 Euros. Ordered one with their Nosegrind blend.

Unfortunately the barista had no idea how to use an Aeropress and was trying to use it like making a pourover. Only inserting the plunger at the end to press air through the wet grinds in the bottom of the chamber.

The result was a bit weak and underextracted for aeropress but still a decent fruity, mellow, faintly funky, smooth cup…basically a flat bottom pourover.

This location seems to be emblematic of a cafe that’s built a name for itself for their offerings but is expanding their locations and not paying enough attention to training. A fine spot for travelers to get a quick cold brew, cappuccinos, and iced...

Guys, I gave this place many opportunities. You can’t charge 5€ for a flat white and sell this as specialty coffee!…

As a specialty coffee lover, this Isn’t a specialty coffee place… it could be a good quality coffee with a good process and roast, but the baristas don’t “treat it well”.

Just take a bit longer to make it, it’s fine, but give what the customers deserve or don’t advertise as a specialty coffee place.

The baristas art is non-existent, the espresso and milk were too hot, which burns the good roast it has… well.. what a shame because I had heard good reviews about this please....
