WE ARE EDN — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Edn just opened in the Hilton Garden Inn Centraal Station. This is a vast improvement from the previous restaurant in the hotel. There are nice views of the canal for boat and people watching. The first night we ate there Terezia took very good care of us. She is personable and didn’t make us feel rushed. We came back for a second night too with equally great service.

Our second night at Edn was just as good as the first. We saw Terezia again and also met Chef Hans. He came to check on one of the dishes. All was good again but we ended up having a special request. I’m part of a private jet flight crew. We had a last minute change to our trip that required us to order food from the hotel. Our waiter, Mohammed, did an excellent job taking care of us. He was able to coordinate with Chef Hans and the manager to have the food made up and stored so we could take it in the morning. Everyone went above and beyond to help us. I can’t wait to dine there again when I’m next in Amsterdam. On a side note, the green side salad is excellent. I had it every night and ordered it for my flight as well. Stopped in for dinner without a reservation on a rainy night while staying upstairs at the DoubleTree Hotel recently. Staff were friendly, if somewhat uncoordinated. They wouldn't give us a requested window table, although a few minutes later it went to two other walk-ins, two people came by in succession to tell us about the specials, and when the person who poured us a beverage spilled part of it on our table they either didn't notice or didn't care, as it was never wiped up. At least they didn't pour it on us! On the plus side, in addition to the canal view in the distance, the food while also to some degree a work in progress, was overall fresh and tasty. The ingredients in the salad didn't entirely co-exist successfully, but were individually healthy, the pizza was well executed, and the desert plate was generous and attractive. Wine by the bottle was reasonably priced and we'll definitely consider stopping by again next time we...

We stayed at this hotel and decided to give dinner a try at their restaurant. I really wanted a steak and they did not disappoint!! We started with ceviche, which was absolutely delicious! I’ve never had ceviche with papaya in it so this was a good twist. My daughter classic EDN burger with a salad on the side. She loved her burger but didn’t favor the salad cause of the dressing. Me on the other hand really loved her salad dressing, so I ended eating it. She’s just not a fan of vinaigrette like flavor but I do. I ordered the picanha steak and it was cooked and seasoned just how I love it. I did add chimichurri sauce and it was just an amazing pair! I will add that I’ve never ordered a steak and got the opportunity to pick what kind of steak knife I wanted to use to cut my steak. I thought that was pretty neat! All in all, I definitely recommend this restaurant. They do have a good variety of food selection...
